Frat House Confessions: Brody by Bethany Lopez

Contemporary Romance

Synopsis:

She’s looking for someone with a rich character, not bank account… Emma’s life has not been easy. Rather than using her disadvantages as a crutch, they have fueled her passion for helping others. She believes in working hard, loves her brother unconditionally, and has no time in her busy life for a certain cocky playboy who has obviously never been denied a thing in his life. He’s searching for something, but isn’t sure what… Brody may come across as a fast-talking rich boy with a sweet car. He’s secured a position in the hottest frat on campus and has the attitude of a guy who’s never known what it’s like to go without. So, yeah, it’s a pretty accurate description. But there’s more to the youngest Temple brother than meets the eye.
When Brody keeps showing up in Emma’s world, her initial assumption is that he’s still playing games. As his confessions come to light, Emma starts to see beneath the surface. Will it be enough to change her perception of him? And will she be able to teach Brody that love is worth more than all his money can buy?

Review:

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

It's time for the last Temple brother to get his happy ending. Brody is the name of the hero of this novel and also the title of the third stand-alone novel in the Frat House Confessions series by Bethany Lopez. I wish I could say that I liked it as much as the average BL book, but I can't.

Brody rubbed me off the wrong the way from what it felt the first chapter and I couldn't bring myself to care for a moment about him. Unlike his brothers, he gave me the impression that he is intitled and carefree in a non-positive way like he was irresponsible. I liked Emma, even when she mothered her brother to death, I loved seeing the couples from the previous books and I kept wondering how Emma's brother could redeem himself. So, the book had some plots that kept me going. I didn't like at all the parts with Emma's ex. I don't think of him as the bad guy, but he is kinda portrayed as the bad guy.

I have mixed feeling about this book and I feel like I liked half of the things that happened and I didn't like the other half. I will remain neutral on the recommendation and maybe lean towards no, a little bit more. I have positive feelings about the other books though.
