The Boleyn King (The Boleyn Trilogy #1) by Laura Andersen

Rating 5/5 stars
Pub. Date May 14 2013

The Boleyn King is a page turned book. I couldn't put it down and I was eagerly turning every single page to see what is going to happen next. The story is told from 4 point of views. Elisabeth is a person we all know from history. Her and a part of her story in the book so far have really happened. There aren't many things to say about her as you already probably will know already about her. I liked the fact that the author decided to write from her POV too. Robert Dudley is also a part of the story and after finishing the book I am very intrigued. I want to see what will happen to his relationship with Elisabeth and what he is planning. After googling Dudley and reading the book I think Andersen combined some true facts with her story and made them happen a few years earlier.

William, Dominic and Minuette are completely fictional characters as far as I know. Here comes the historical fiction. I love the what ifs and I have certain feelings towards Henry VIII after watching the tudors so I knew I had to read the book. I grew very fond of Minuette and I liked her with Dominic who I also liked. The sort of ttriangle thing has me torn. I don't know if I want her with Dominic or with both of them. I certainly don't want her with William alone, though in the end the prospect of them ending up together crossed my mind. I like way too much Dominic to see him being hurt like that.

The four of them have a great relationship and you can see how they love and care about each other (not always in a you-are-the-love-of-my-life way). I am a newbie to the Alternate History genre and if the rest of the books are like that I will safely say that it will become one of my favorite genres. In the king's court everything happens. From finding someone to spend the night with to finding your true love to the making of plots against the king and other people. While I was reading the book I felt as if I were a part of the story and I was living 5 centuries ago. The interlude left me wanting more. I highly recommend the book.

Skin in the Game by Jackie Barbosa

Rating 3/5 stars
Pub. Date May 27 2013

I don't have a good impression for this one. I didn't felt the clik I feel when a couple gets together and in my head they are meant to be together forever. Angie might as well go and marry a random guy and Cade might go to N.Y. and never marry. There wasn't much of a story. The characters and their personalities left me indifferent. The only one I liked was Angie's father.

In the end I had two questions: A) The author is planning a sequel? Will I read just it in case it's better than Skin the hame? If not it's really bad the end. And B) It's over? Really?? When did that happened? Am I missing something? This isn't a proper way to write the book. Something is not sitting well with me.

I did not liked it but I did not disliked it either. It's a good thing that is short because I didn't waste much time with it.

The Bare Naked Truth: Dating, Waiting, and God's Purity Plan by Rebekah Joy Martin

Rating 3/5 stars
Pub. Date May 7 2013

Why I didn't notice the "waiting and God's Purity Plan" when I requested this book? I really hate the tiny letters on the cover. If you are not a Christian teenage girl who lives in America or a mother/father who wants to make his/her daughter to wait until marrige for sex than you don't a have a reason to buy it. I only finished 77% of it because I was thinking that I was going to kill someone if I read one more time the word God. Page after page there was talk only about God and how you should wait until you lose your cherry.
There was only one point of view. The "I am a good Christian". It's like they are trying to brain wash you into not having sex until you marry.

The 3 star rating come from these factors. 1) My little brother really liked the tests in the end of the chapter and so did I. Also the results were fitted to my personality. 2) The point of view. Both in a  positive and a negative way. It's different from the way we live and think now, not so many people think this way. And 3) the God part. Not all people are Christians and it will be weird for them to read a book with quotes from the Bible. Also I think that if the author wanted to speak about random events in her life she should have written an another book

Gilded Destiny: A Vesper Novella by Nola Sarina

Rating 4/5 stars
Pub. Date May 13 2013

This better be a short story of a series otherwise is a fail. While it explained some things about Vipers but I did not felt as if the story had a destiny. A reason to begin and a reason to end. A reason to explain something. I would prefer a different end to Callie's story. You don't even have to read further than the first chapter to find out what happens in the end. The rest of it is about how it got there. The last chapter was confusing and if the author does not continue the book it would be a total fail. I liked it but I wanted more. I did not get that something that I didn't know I was looking for until I realised that I did not had it.

Hero of My Heart: A Loveswept Historical Romance by Megan Frampton

Rating 4/5 stars
Pub. Dat April 8 2013

Fromm Goodreads:
In this emotional and powerfully erotic tale of love and redemption, a tender vicar’s daughter and a tortured war hero discover that sin may be their only salvation.

When Mary Smith’s corrupt, debt-ridden brother drags her to a seedy pub to sell her virtue to the highest bidder, Alasdair Thornham leaps to the rescue. Of course the marquess is far from perfect husband material. Although he is exceedingly handsome, with a perfect, strong body, chiseled jaw, and piercing green eyes, Alasdair is also too fond of opium, preferring delirium to reality. Still, he has come to Mary’s aid, and now she intends to return the favor. She will show him that he is not evil, just troubled.

Mary was a damsel in need of a hero, but Alasdair’s plan is shortsighted. He never foresaw her desire to save him from himself. Alasdair is quite at home in his private torment, until this angel proves that a heart still beats in his broken soul. The devil may have kept her from hell, but will Mary’s good intentions lead them back to the brink—or to heaven in each other’s arms?

Includes a special message from the editor, as well as excerpts from these Loveswept titles: Along Came Trouble, The Notorious Lady Anne, and The Baron.

I liked the book. I liked their world, the bubble they had created when they weren't in London. I liked how they fought together against everyone, her brother and his cousin. Against their worst self. Each trying to help or save the other. They tried to overcome the obstacles. There wasn't a part of the plot I found boring, which was a relief. Both were doing everything possible make it better for the other forgetting their own needs which, for me, is always a great plus in any book I read. It was a very good way to spend my evening though I felt as if there was a story before this one, the story of Mary's friend (Amelia is her name if I am not wrong).

Claim Me (Stark Trilogy #2) by J. Kenner

Rating 5/5 stars
Pub. Date April 23 2013

*ARC provided via NetGalley for an honest review*

The amazingness of the trilogy continues in Claim me. I admit it was a tad slow first but after a while many things happened fast and by the last 20% I was screaming a little bit. Not because it was bad but because it was whiplash of a a series of events. They were a lots of what the fucks?? and NO! NO! NO!s but in the end a huge smile could been seen in my face. It's one of the books you could start reading and forget everything else.

Nikki and Damien's relationship is one of my favorites. Their bond is strong and steady, they don't do break ups and they would do anything for each other. It makes you wish you had a relationship like that. They face various difficulties and enemies but they stay together and solve their problems. Even the last challenge represented that drove them away for a while it wasn't enough to keep them apart. Damien isn't sharing much information but still  he doesn't hide much. Only the you don't really wanna know stuff. Nikki is if not the only one of the heroines I actually admire. She has guts. She is strong and doesn't give up easily. She has the demons from her past but she tries hard to deal with them.

I loved Claim me and there is no way I am going to miss  when it comes out. I will read it on July 30th which is it's pub. date and because the trilogy is worth your and mine time and money.

Surrender your love by J.C. Reed

4/5 stars
I received a copy from the author for a review and I thank her very much.

First I found it good than slow for a large part and about 10% from the end the story went from 0 to 60 in a blink .In the slow part I kept saying to myself that I don't like the book but I kept reading it.It turned out that it was worth.A few hours after finishing the book I must admit that I like it. I want to see what will happen next to Brooke and Jett. The end is a cliffhanger and damn! is a good one. I did not see that coming. I am hoping that I will get a copy for the next book. I will read it as soon as I can when it comes out.

It seems like the story is the same recipe we already know with the sexy millionaire but it's different at the same time. I can't help thinking Naked by Raine Miller when I have this book on my mind.

Jett is definitely not on my book boyfriend list. In the end I felt betrayed and hurt. I am expecting something good from him Conquer your love otherwise I will find a way to go inside the book and kill him myself. My lack of feelings for him worries me, since that usually doesn't happen. Maybe he will be like Ethan from TBA. As for Brooke I think I like her. She knows what she is getting into and I give her credit for that. I also give her credit for her reacting in the end. I actually felt sorry for her and I am hoping the best for her.
