Review: The Secret to Dating Your Best Friend's Sister by Meghan Quinn

How do you date your best friend's sister? Easy. Step one: Pretend you want her to set you up with someone else. That will bring the two of you closer. Step two: Go on date with lots of random women, proceed to get stupid drunk and talk about your best friend's sister, thus gaining the courage to finally make a move. Step three: Randomly show up at her apartment and confess your love. Women love that, right? It all seemed so simple. A fool-proof three step process that will guarantee the love of you life to fall madly in love with you. At least--that's what I thought was going to happen. But my attempts to win over Julia Westin backfired in more ways than I can count. The thing about Julia? She's smart--really smart--and her wicked gaze cuts through all the charm I've tried slinging her way. She's not interested in games, my gifts, or my stories. She might want me too; but she's not giving in that easy...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

When Bram dropped the bomb that the number of women he had slept with was in the hundreds, I honestly thought that he and I were over. But he won me over and in the end, I loved him. He is a man who knew for years that Jules was going to be his, but he was waiting because he knew that she wasn't ready. And it would have been unrealistic if he hadn't slept with anyone for 10 years. I just wish the number was lower. He is a romantic guy and I loved the little things that he did for Julia. I didn't like that he was checking the women she set him up with out though. He is the kind of person whom you will either hate or love. There is no medium with this guy. Not when it comes to the woman he loves and her tube socks. Jules is a complicated story and I think you must read the book to get the feeling of what kind of person she is. I just can't describe her and can only say that she is driven and dedicated to her business.

A few thoughts I had when I was reading the book is that Bram's random filling of the questionnaire was going to bite him in the arse since it was brought up every couple of chapters and I knew that it was going to cause trouble, even though in my mind there was no need for that kind of drama. The second thought I had is that Jules's brother might get a story with the woman we briefly saw. I would love to see Bram's friends get a story, maybe Clarissa too. Bram's assistant seemed like a good guy, but I doubt that he will get a story since he was a secondary character. As you can see, I liked a lot of people in this book.

The Secret to Dating Your Best Friend's Sister overall was a book that I enjoyed despite my initial hesitation and I read it in one sitting. Bram was so focused on winning Jules over and I loved him for that.
