Arsen. A broken love story by Mia Asher

Rating: 4/5 stars
Publication Date: August 23rd 2013

One glance was all it took…

I'm a cheater.
I'm a liar.
My whole life is a mess.

I love a man.
No, I love two men…
I think.

One makes love to me. The other sets me on fire.
One is my rock. The other is my kryptonite.

I'm broken, lost, and disgusted with myself.

But I can't stop. This is my story.
My broken love story.

I can see why people like this book and why they don't. There is cheating but it is actually represented in a not a-am-sick-of-this-how-could-she-do-it way. I might not have always understood her reasoning but most of the time I could. Her thinking was simple and clear. The moments I could understand her though I wanted to scream at her to do the right thing.

For the first time in my triangle history I couldn't pick a side. I was torn. Arsen is the bad boy who they is almost no way to not fall in love with him. He is what Cathy needs. He is a mix of Kellan (Thoughtless) and Alex Kennedy (from the Alex Kennedy duet by Megan Hart). What won my over was his music taste. He is a fan of Muse! And he likes Madness. Ben is her husband whom she loved once before the miscarriages and everything. I don't think she ever stopped loving him. He won me when he brought cupcakes instead of flowers to Cathy for their first date.

If it weren't for the flashbacks I don't think that me or most of the readers would have realised how much depth their relationship had. Arsen would have been the obvious choice because from her point of view Ben is more distant and cold than the man I saw in the past. But Ben doesn't change. Cathy does.

The end left a bittersweet taste in my mouth. If it's going to be called happy or not it's the readers choice though I am not so sure about it. It's more bitter than sweet. I hope that a next book will make that bitterness sweetness because it was unfair.

Arsen is a book for everyone who doesn't mind cheating, broken hearts and steamy scenes.

Excerpt : (steamy)

Opening my legs with his hands, he enters me slowly, taking his time, making the moment last. When he’s all the way in, he pauses as we stare at each other, both of us breathing heavily. Slowly, he brings a hand to caress my naked shoulder. “I’ve wanted to do this since the moment I kissed you on the street.”

“Have sex with me?” I ask.

“No.” He bites my lower lip. “Make you mine.”

This time he makes love to me. There is no roughness in his treatment of my body, and I don’t miss it. This feels as if he is telling me with his body what he cannot voice yet. This feels like we are imprinting each other to our bodies and to our hearts. Moaning, I grab the back of his neck and pull him down for a kiss, getting lost in the moment.
