They say you can’t go home again…

Tyler “Doobie” Dubois is excited about moving back home to New Orleans after being away for five years. He left with a broken heart, determined to make it through the police academy and become a great cop, while finding his place in the world. Now, he’s ready to come home and regain his place in the family. Unfortunately, not everyone is ready to welcome him back with open arms.

  Time heals all wounds…

Alicia loves her life. Ever since she moved to New Orleans from Michigan, she’s been accepted for who she is and is thriving in The Big Easy. She’s open to love, although not actively looking for it, so when her best friend and roommate asks her to steer clear of Doobie romantically, she readily agrees. After all, she’s never even met him.

A chemistry that can’t be denied…

What begins as a friendship quickly turns to something more and they’ll both discover that loving each other is an Easy Risk.

 Review:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Easy Risk is a novella written by Bethany Lopez and it's a part of the A Boudreaux Universe series. Each book in the series is a stand-alone and written by a different author. I can safely say that it's my favorite book so far from all the other novels in the universe and it greats a big recommendation from me.

I don't know if it's due to the coronavirus or just the usual book funk, but I have trouble lately loving a book. Fortunately, I loved Easy risk. It's not a big book, but it also wasn't short enough to make me feel like things were rushed. The romance was not rushed at all. Tyler and Alicia certainly felt the spark from the moment they met, but they took their time to actually date/kiss/sleep together and I really appreciated that. Usually, all that stuff are happening way earlier, especially in novellas. I was worried about the potential drama from Tyler's sister because she warns Alicia to not date her brother before she even met him and I was also very glad to discover that the book is drama free. Tyler has some baggage and he faced them without dragging it much. A lot of other things are happening in this book, which I am not going to reveal. Honestly, I am thinking that this could have been a full-length novel with everything that went on. There wasn't a moment that I grew tired of the book or thought that it was rushed. I am very satisfied with this book and I would definitely recommend It. It's one of the best books I read this year.

On a final note, I want to say that I loved Tyler's sisters and that I want them to have a book too!
