Wildfire is the third book in the Men of Inked: Heatwave by Chelle Bliss. The first two books were Gigi's story and this one is Tamara's who is Gigi's cousin. This is a stand-alone novel, but the first two are not. The fourth book will be about another cousin. Speaking about the fourth book, I want to say that I feel like the epilogue was wasted since it's a teaser about Lily's book. And what's even worse it's that the epilogue was the best part of this book.
You see, the first two books left me with a good impression and I really wanted to read this one. Unfortunately, there wasn't a single thing about this book that made me feel something similar to what I felt in the other books. When I reached the epilogue of the book I thought "Wait, this is it?" I didn't feel like the story had a climax and I was rather unsatisfied with what I got, which is a shame because I have liked everything else I have read from this author so far.
I rolled my eyes very hard when Tamara said that she and Crow were just friends and nothing more (or something like that) when in their interaction the only thing they pretty much talked about was how both of them wanted to sleep with each other, late into the book. Or after knowing that Tamara first met Mammoth because she went to the compound looking for Crow because she wanted to jump his bones.
It was good to have a non-virgin heroine who enjoyed herself, but I couldn't get past all the sex talk. And I am not only talking about the heroine's past. I am talking about pretty much everyone's. I would have liked to have something meaningful inserted somewhere between those conversations. For some character development or getting to know the characters better. Also, I forgot to mention that there is a woman who is trying to get into Mammoth's pants, but he turned her down quickly.
I have high hopes about the rest of the series, but I wouldn't recommend this book.
