Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

All The Lies is the first part of the Lies & Truths Duet by Rina Kent. It ends with a cliffhanger and fortunately, the rest of the story will be released very soon. The cliffhanger was expected, but I wasn't expecting to read that ending. 

Reading the disclaimer made me expect a darker book, with more twisted situations. In my opinion, the book was not very dark. It's not a bad thing per se and I am only mentioning it because it might put off some readers, while it shouldn't. Of course, I have no idea what will happen in the second book, so I cannot talk with 100% certainty about Reina and Asher's story. 

As the blurb mentions, Reina lost her memories after a fire, so she is practically starting a brand new life after she wakes up. It was nice and weird at the same time to see her discover who she was and trying to come to terms with the person she is now and who she was before the accident. 

I was hooked on the story and this is the first book I have read from this author, but not the last! I am definitely gonna give her another one of her books a try. I liked not having a single idea on where the story was going since Reina was trying to find out what happened in the past for most of the book. The cliffhanger was nice and it was a nod to this part " If you're looking for a hero, you won't find him in Asher Carson". At some point, I  was worried that Asher would turn out to not be the hero of the book to be honest since he seemed very distant and I hope we will see more of him later. I want to see where the author plans to take the story and the characters. The writing was good and it had a fast pace, which made me very happy and the book so easy to read and not realize how much time has passed. 

I would recommend All the lies with a little hesitation. If after reading the second book, I decide that the duet is not something I would recommend I will update this review too. I am really hoping that won't happen, but I have been burned in the past, which makes me a little hesitant on recommending duets.  There is pretty much only one thing that can ruin the duet for me though so the chances of it happening are very low.

  “Why do you hate me so much?” If you do, why the hell are you engaged to me? “Might have to do with how much of a bitch you are.” “Oh, I’m sorry.” I smile. “Did I steal your title, asshole?” He pauses, head tilting to the side. “What did you just call me?” “A-S-S-H-O-L-E.” I continue smiling, taunting him. “Do you want me to spell it for you again—” My words cut off when he’s at my face, kneeling on the bed in front of me. His hand wraps around my throat like a shackle. He’s not squeezing, but the firm grip is enough to restrict my air supply and my thoughts. A frightening chill forms goose bumps along my skin as I stare at his darkened, merciless eyes. The sense of bravery I gained a few seconds ago evaporates into thin air. My shoulder blades snap together as if telling me I should be scared. This is a scary person. He’s fucking terrifying. The need to run away from him hits me again, clawing under my skin and pumping in my blood. “You seem to be taking your amnesia game way too seriously, so let me remind you of how it goes.” His thumb rubs my jaw like a lover’s caress when in fact it’s a Grim Reaper’s kiss. It’s cold. Everything about him is freezing. My pulse roars in my ears like a distant thunderstorm. He’s invading my space like a natural disaster, impossible to stop or prevent. Still, I manage to choke words out. “You think this is a game? What type of person pretends to have lost their memories?” “The type who doesn’t want people to know what they’ve done.” “What I’ve done?” “Shhh. Don’t talk.” He presses his thumb to my lips, and I can’t help the pulses taking flight under my skin. “When I speak, you listen.”
