Audition is a stand-alone novel in the True North series (?) by Skye Warren and Amelia Wilde. It's a spin-off from the North Security series and some readers, like me, are already familiar with the main characters. We got an idea of what was going on in the lives of our characters before the events of the story began.
While I read the book in one sitting and I finished it easily, I got annoyed with the flashbacks. I didn't feel like they added much to the story and I thought that the events of the past could have been summed up in a chapter or two. I would have liked to have more focus on the present and maybe what the characters did during their time apart. Bethany's handsy director was a part of the story that I wanted to see more of and particularly how he was going to get crushed.
Despite that, I enjoyed the novel. I would have loved an extended epilogue with our characters and maybe an appearance of Samantha and Liam. Both are mentioned but we don't see them. If the True North is actually a series, I want to see more of the North Brothers and their other halves.
