Release Blast: Boss of me by Tia Louise

They warned me not to take this job.
They said you were ruthless, impossible to please…
I said I was better than them.
I wouldn’t fall for your charm, your arrogance, or how sexy you fill out that suit.
I wouldn’t fall for your deep brown eyes or the way that muscle moves in your square jaw when you’re pissed.

I said I could resist you.
I was wrong...

(BOSS OF ME is a STAND-ALONE workplace, military romance with a badass alpha boss and the feisty woman who steals and heals his heart. No cheating. No cliffhangers.)

Review:

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Boss of Me is Tia Louise's newest stand-alone novel! The book has some triggers that have mostly to do with drug use, so I feel like I need to warn you.

Sometimes books can be underwhelming and others overwhelming for many reasons. For me, Boss of me, was overwhelming because it had too many things going on. Too many plots in other words and it was tiring, hence the 3.5 stars. I am not sure where to start and where to end this review. I guess that the most important plotline other than the romance was Raquel's sister history with Patton and the company, which is what initially drives Raquel to work for Patton. I am not sure how we went from "Patton is the devil" to the twists and turns the story took later on. I don't doubt that Patton might have crossed some lines, but I am not sure about what was good and what wasn't. Raquel's sister has a big impact on this story and I am wondering if the author has written or plans to write her book because there were so much going on that had to do with her in the past and in the present. Raquel and Patton have a lot on their plate and I am not just talking about the chicken.

What I liked the most is that the hero is not sleeping around with everything that moves, just because he can. He has a weight on his shoulders, but he is not making silly excuses about the way he is and I loved that about him. Raquel was a little more difficult character to understand and some times I wondered if she even knew who she was and was she truly wanted. I liked the spark she had when it came to business and keeping up with them. Overall, I would recommend the book.
