From what I gathered, Advice from a Jilted Bride (book 2 in the series) ended with a cliffhanger when the heroine showed up out of the blue with a baby in tow. Since the series is called "The Baileys" is safe to say that one Bailey guy is about to find out that he is a daddy. I haven't read book 2 and I was a little lost at first. Anyway, I was asked not to reveal anything about the MCs and I don't even know if the heroine's name was mentioned so I will refer to them as heroine and hero from now on.
One thing that I have to get out of my chest, is that one of my pet peeves was found in the book. What bothered me the most about it is that we don't find it out in the begging, but after 1/3 of the book has passed. The delay is what got on my nerves the most. I was wondering why the heroine didn't contact the baby daddy sooner and I got my explanation. I stopped reading the book for a while after that and I picked it up again 12 hours before the book's release day. I am happy that I continued reading since I ended up enjoying the book once the pest was out of our lives. The hero and the heroine were really trying to work things out for the Calista (the baby) and the romance felt realistic. The fact that they didn't immediately fell onto a bed, helped a lot with that development.
Another thing that I cannot get over, but didn't affect my rating was the words the baby could say. I swear half of the words she said we swear words. I have moments when I can make a sailor blush, but shouldn't a baby not know these words? None of the adults tried not to cuss in front of the child. I don't know if that element was added for a comedic purpose, but it creeped me out.
Overall, my impression of the book was a positive one. I liked the Baileys, the hero, and the heroine. The story was good and I liked how the parents navigated through the many obstacles they faced. The romance was good and I look forward to the fourth book.
