"Emme McGovern believes in two things: Jesus and really good football. " The good football part is true. The Jesus part not so much. There is no mention of it in the whole book and I honestly had no idea that Jesus was a part of Emme's life. If I hadn't read the blurb I wouldn't have believed it. I loved that for once in a romance book is not the heroine the one who is supposed to leave everything behind and have the hero have his way. Liam was on board with this and it made me happy. I might have not liked his reaction when he found out the truth, but he was hurt and it's very understandable. If Emme had said something from day one, things would have been much better. These two have some very strong moments in this book and I it made up for some other stuff that wasn't so of my liking. Both of them were likable characters even if Liam is stubborn and miserable after his accident. The author is new to me, but I am satisfied with her work on this book and I will keep an eye for her next releases. I hope they are as good as this one. The book is completely stand-alone. It's so stand-alone that I didn't feel the need to read the other books to read another couple's story of that I was missing something out. The other two couples are subtle enough which was fine in my opinion. I would recommend the book since I think that is worth giving it a shot.
