Clarice
He’s been my best friend for eleven years, ever since I witnessed his heroism in Afghanistan and nursed him back to health. The young soldier grew into a man I could spend the rest of my life with. But I can never let him know just how much I love him, because not even a hero who lived through a war can survive my past.

Brian
She knows every little detail about me. There’s no one in this world I love and care for more. After years of meeting up on my mercenary missions to spend time together, she’s finally coming to see my home, my club, and meeting my friends, who don’t even know she exists. Will I finally be able to convince my secret lover to tear down her fortress so we can become so much more than best friends?

Review:

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

I want to begin saying that even though Corbin and Vi's story seemed very interesting and something worth reading, I am glad that I didn't read their book. It has a few tropes that I detest and I am happy I skipped it.

Before this book was released, the author had published a few novellas featuring Clarice and Brian, so you might be familiar with them. If you haven't read these novella's there is no problem because the book can be read as stand alone. That's the way I read it. It didn't change a thing since most of the book is about the therapy sessions they have to go through before Clarice can join the club.  We see how their relationship developed over time and mostly what their lives were like during the war. These two people have been in love with each other for a long time and in this book, they have the chance to be together and admit their feelings for each other. Clarice had a reason for choosing to not commit to Brian and we find it early enough. Some people might find it silly, but I didn't have a problem with it since fear is irrational. I loved the ways they decided to break the rules without breaking the rules and giving Clarice a chance to be with the man she loves.

I think that 4 stars is a good and fair rating for the book. It was good and I was able to read it easily which is always a plus. I would recommend it and if the author plans to write another book in the series, I will probably read it.

Author Bio

KD Robichaux wanted to be a romance author since the first time she picked up her mom’s Sandra Brown books at the ripe old age of twelve. She went to college to become a writer, but then married and had babies. Putting her dream job on hold to raise her family as a stay at home mom, who read entirely too much, she created a blog where she could keep her family and friends up-to-date on all the hottest reads. From there, by word of mouth, her blog took off and she began using her hard-earned degree as a Senior Editor for Hot Tree Editing. When her kids started school, and with the encouragement from her many author friends, she finally sat down and started working on her first series, The Blogger Diaries, her very own real life romance.
