no memory of how that happened. Did he miss the good stuff?
Hot Winter Nights
Heartbreaker Bay – Book 6

Who needs mistletoe?
Most people wouldn’t think of a bad Santa case as the perfect Christmas gift. Then again, Molly Malone, office manager at Hunt Investigations, isn’t most people, and she could really use a distraction from the fantasies she’s been having since spending the night with her very secret crush, Lucas Knight. Nothing happened, not that Lucas knows that—but Molly just wants to enjoy being a little naughty for once . . .
Whiskey and pain meds for almost-healed bullet wounds don’t mix. Lucas needs to remember that next time he’s shot on the job, which may be sooner rather than later if Molly’s brother, Joe, finds out about them. Lucas can’t believe he’s drawing a blank on his (supposedly) passionate tryst with Molly, who’s the hottest, smartest, strongest woman he’s ever known. Strong enough to kick his butt if she discovers he’s been assigned to babysit her on her first case. And hot enough to melt his cold heart this Christmas . . .
Review:
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
I knew from the moment Molly's brother asked Lucas to keep an eye on her that that would be the reason why these two would have a fallout. Things got worse when Molly blackmailed Lucas into helping her and I knew that I would enjoy the ride until Lucas paid the price. I felt sorry for the guy. He knew that he should tell her the truth, but also knew that it would be bad if he did and things just got complicated.
There is a slow burn between Molly and Lucas and I was patiently waiting for them to realize that they should be together or at least hop on the bed. I didn't mind the waiting and I was happy with how things progressed between them. The elf mystery was a nice touch to the story and I was very satisfied with the ending result. For me, the series is still on the winning spree and since book 2 I have been enjoying each book. I haven't read book one yet though. I don't see what's not to like about this book. Ok, it didn't blow my mind, but I was hooked on the story and the characters. I was rooting for Molly and I wanted her to prove to her brothers that she should be taking cases to work on them and not sit around at the office. She is kicking arse in end of the book and I couldn't be happier.
Overall Hot winter nights is another winner for me and I would recommend it without a second thought.
