Review: Whiskey Reveals (Whiskey and Lies #2) by Carrie Ann Ryan

About WHISKEY REVEALS (Whiskey and Lies #2)

One whiskey-saturated night turns into something far more in the second standalone installment of the bestselling Whiskey and Lies series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan.
Fox Collins likes his life just the way it is. His siblings are falling in love all around him, but he'd much rather focus on his next story than on a serious relationship. However, when his latest one-night stand returns to Whiskey-this time for good-he'll need to learn to trust his instincts to figure out if he can live without her in his life.
Former dancer Melody Waters is finally ready to settle down in her grandmother's small Pennsylvania hometown. Bad decisions and fateful nights have changed her path more than once, but now she's focused on one thing: opening her new own dance studio. But fate is a funny thing, and once again, she'll be forced to learn that actions have consequences and some repercussions can not only change your life forever, they can also come back to haunt you…one broken promise at a time.
Each book is a complete stand alone and can be read in any order.

Review:

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

As much as I loved the book, I will have to be honest with you. I hated a certain plot because it seemed very far-fetched. I will explain it in the last paragraph of the book, so if you don't want a tiny spoiler, don't read it. That was the only part of the book I didn't like and that's a good thing. Mellody and Fox clicked together for me and they had a  lovely relationship.

The secondary characters are already known and loved to those who have read the first book and to those who haven't I think they will become one of the best parts of the book. Plus in this story, we met Pearl, Mellody's grandmother and a lovely old lady who might steal a part of the spotlight. I can't wait for the third book in the series because it has become obvious to the readers and the rest of the world that the final Collins brother and his best friend are meant to be. I want to see how that will turn out and I have a suspicion that MIsty's birth mother will come into the picture and cause drama. I hope I am not right.

The book was good. It had many points that won me over and I can say that the series is very good. I liked how Mellody's past was revealed and Fox's reaction to it. Now that I am thinking about it, his reaction to another thing was also very hilarious. The Collins family is very warm and kind and I want to see them more. I am recommending the book to the people who have read the first book and to those who have simply stumbled upon this review. As a reminder don't read the next paragraph if you don't want spoilers.

I cannot believe how easily Mellody got pregnant since she was on the pill and they used a condom. I would have liked a better reason to force these two together and not the usual, we slept one night together and now we are having a baby despite using protection.
