The Montgomery Ink saga from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues with a steamy new series.

Years ago, Annabelle Montgomery married not for love but for a promise of hope. When she lost him weeks later, she told herself she never needed those sentiments again. Only when she discovers years later that her new neighbor is her late husband’s brother, Annabelle finds she can’t quite shake the emotions she’s long since buried.

Jacob Queen vowed he’d never set eyes on Annabelle again. When they’re forced into each other’s lives once more, they realize that no matter how far they run, no distance can keep them apart forever. More than ghosts lay between them, and when they finally give in to temptation, walking away whole may no longer be an option.

Review:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Inked Persuasion is the first book in the Montgomery Ink: Fort Collins series by Carrie Ann Ryan. At this point, I think that the Montgomeries cannot fit in a family tree and need a family forest. I cannot keep track of all the Montgomeries and their connections to each other!

Anyways, in this book, we meet a new branch with a lot of exciting characters. There is one thing that concerns me and that is the fact that some siblings seem to have already met a good person in their lives (Paige and Colton for example) and I don't want to see them break up. Of course, I am getting ahead of myself since so far, I only see 3 books planned. The end of the book set up the ground for the second book and there is a hint about what is going to happen in book 3 so that's why I am talking about what the future might hold here. CAR is always setting up future stories in her books and I just keep getting hooked.

Jacob has a lot of emotions when it comes to Annabelle and things were a little rough at first because he thought that Annabelle took his brother from him and there was a big misunderstanding about what truly went down back then. Thankfully Annabelle is not a pushover and she can defend herself when she wants to, which made things easier for me as a reader. The connection between them was obvious from the start and I was very happy seeing them get together even when Jacob was acting like an arse.

As always, there is a villain and it was painfully obvious who was going to be, but I am willing to forgive that because I enjoyed everything else. The book was very good, but it made me think that I want another series from CAR that doesn't have to do with the Montgomeries in any way, not even a slight mention of them. Overall though, I am happy with the book and I would recommend it.
