Review:

Rating: 5 out of  5 stars

Spark is the 6th book in the Men of Inked: Heatwave series by Chelle Bliss. The series is a spin-off of the Men of Inked and it's about the Gallo cousins. Not all books in the series are stand-alone, although Nick and Jo's story ends in this one. The epilogue of this book does end with a minor cliffhanger that makes me wonder what happened to the characters since book 7 seems to begin with a time jump.

While reading Spark I found what I was missing in the book I was reading before. A hero who has convinced me 100% that he will do anything for his woman. I cannot tell you how much I loved Nick. He was perfect and so protective and supportive which was exactly what Jo needed. I gotta be honest and admit that I have no clue what exactly Jo's job is. Also, I wasn't expecting her to be the heroine because we first see her crying at a taco place. Isn't that a very good first impression? I think so too! She is a kind person and as I was reading I kept liking her more and more. She is a cool heroine to have around and I really liked her. On the romance department, the book was very strong and I was satisfied with what I read. Nick amazing and I couldn't help but fall for him. Jo is the one who completes him and together they make a good couple. Nick's family is very present in the story and they only added to the goodness.

The book was going great until the usual drama came up, you know, the one that tests the relationship between the two main characters, and two things didn't add up. the first is that I found it unbelievable that Nick wouldn't force Jo go to the hospital. After what happened I would have wanted her to be checked by the author. The second thing is that I felt like the same issue that caused problems to Jo didn't feel like it was resolved and more like it was brushed under the rug and rushed.

At first, I was going to give 4 stars to the book because of what I mentioned in the above paragraph, but as I was writing the review I decided that Nick as a hero and Jo and Nick as a couple deserved 5 stars, so I am actually going with the 5-star rating. I do believe that this is the first 5 starred book of the year (and I have read at least 10 books already) so yay for me and the author.

Nick Gallo lives wild and free, avoiding any complications or drama. But when he overhears a conversation at a late-night taco stand, he can’t help but insert his two cents, telling the woman she was too good for that kind of hassle.

Josephine Carmichael lives in the crosshairs of the paparazzi as the child of a Hollywood power-couple. But when her celebrity boyfriend has an affair while they’re on vacation, she takes off to the middle-of-nowhere Florida, ending up crying in her nachos.

And when Nick finds Josephine sleeping in the parking lot of a local store, his protective instincts take over. What starts out as a simple favor, takes them down a road they never imagined.

Spark is the sixth book in the new steamy romance Men of Inked: Heatwave series by Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author Chelle Bliss.
