I’ve kissed
a lot of frogs, just to be covered in warts. I’ve been lied to,
cheated on, and used more times than I can count. I don’t have it in
me to keep going. I need a break from it all. I need time
for the wounds to heal, and the scars to fade.
Wouldn’t
you know it’s my luck, to meet a gorgeous man, after declaring my self-imposed
break? He’s charming, sexy, and determined to change my mind.
I wasn’t
looking for her, but when I overheard her conversation, I had to add my two
cents. Within minutes of talking to her, I knew she was unlike anyone I’d
ever met. Bruised from past relationships, she’s built a fort around
her heart. Doesn’t she know the prince always rescues the princess?
I think
about her all the time. The more I’m around her, the more I want to
be. I’ve made my choice. It’s her. Now, all I have
to do is prove to her that I’m the difference.

Review:
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
The Difference is a stand-alone novel by Kaylee Ryan. The main characters are Addy and Lucas. Addy has been burned in the past from the men she was dating and now she is not willing to give another man a try in the immediate future. That's too bad since when she makes that decision she meets Lucas who is the love of her life. As you can guess, a large part of the book is spent on reading how Lucas was trying to convince her to give him a chance. If I were him, I probably have given up at some point, but Lucas kept proving that he is into Abby and that she was the one for him.
I will admit that after some point, I was starting to get frustrated from the way Abby was behaving and she got a little on my nerves. I understood where she was coming from though. Lucas' character might even be described as unrealistic because there is no way a man could be so understanding and loving.
I loved that we had a secondary plot with Harper and Justin who are Abby and Lucas's best friends respectively. We don't get their point of views, but we got to see everything else, so in my opinion, it was good.
The book overall was very good and it proved once again why every time I see a book written by Kaylee Ryan I pick it up! So far she hasn't disappointed me!
