About RESTLESS INK

Available September 18, 2018
The Montgomery Ink series continues with the so-called sensible sister and the one man she never should have fallen for.
For Thea Montgomery, baking isn’t only therapeutic, it’s also her dream job. She’s worked countless hours keeping her bakery afloat, and now that it’s where she wants it to be, she’s ready to expand and take the next step. When it comes to work and her family, she’s on top of her game. Her personal life, however, is a different story.
When Dimitri Carr isn’t teaching and hiding his ink under long sleeves to keep the bosses happy, he’s trying to be the best brother and friend he can be. After his divorce, he’d thought he would lose Thea from his life forever because she’s his ex-wife’s best friend. But now that he’s free, and the two of them realize they want to keep their friendship. Then he finally sees what he’s been missing all this time.
But there are more problems than the fact that Dimitri is Thea’s best friend’s ex. And when accidental touches and flirtations aren’t enough for either of them, and they’re finally ready to take the next step, they’ll find out exactly what that cost is for crossing that line. And will need to find the strength to face it.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

I knew the book was not going to be a favorite of mine when it began with Thea just having slept with Roger. It's a chapter long ordeal and as you know, I hate books where we see the hero or heroine sleeping or having slept with someone other than the other main character. The book just lost me as a reader there and I stopped reading it for a while. When I continued reading it, I just couldn't get invested in Thea and Dimitri's story. And speaking of sleeping with other people, we have Molly, Dimitri's ex and Thea's "best friend" appear too much in the story. I hated her and I don't feel like we got a satisfying enough explanation for her actions in this book. Also, did I miss the part where we find out how Thea's plan about expanding will happen?

Roxie and Carter stole the spotlight and I am dying to read their book. In Restless Ink we are only teased about it and I want to see what made them have a strained relationship. Roxie never said anything about it to Thea and it got on my nerves in a good way. I would just love to see what was going on between her and her husband because you can see that Carter loves her a ton. Did they lose a baby or something as tragic? Are they just drifting apart? I don't know and I need to find out,

The brightest spotlight was on Captain. I loved that dog, Thea loved the dog, Dimitri loved his dog. Everyone loved the dog. He had the best relationship with Dimitri. I hope we will see more of that canine in the future books. Another thing that was good was finding out that the author plans to write a series with Dimitri's family as the main characters. The universe is expanding even more and I am in for that!

Overall, the book is not going to be one of my favorite books by this author. It made me think that we will always have an ex-wife/husband thing going on in the series and I am a fan of that idea, especially since Roxie and Carter are still married. I guess we will see what will happen next in the future books in the series. I would recommend it with some hesitation.
