From New York Times and USA Today bestselling authors Tessa Bailey, Lexi Blake, Larissa Ione, Laurelin Paige, and introducing Jenna Jacob and Sierra Simone.

Six Dark Tales. Six Sensual Stories. Six Page Turners.

ROUGH RHYTHM: A Made In Jersey Novella by Tessa Bailey Band manager James Brandon never expected to find the satisfaction he’d been chasing, let alone stumble upon it in some sleezy Hollywood meat market. Yet the girl’s quiet pride spoke to him from across the bar. But after losing the grip on his dark desires that one fateful night, James has spent the last four years atoning for letting her down. Rock band drummer Lita Regina has had enough of James’s guilt. She wants the explosive man she met that night in Hollywood. And she’ll stop at nothing to revive him.

DEVOTED: A Masters and Mercenaries Novella by Lexi Blake Amy Slaten has devoted her life to Slaten Industries. After ousting her corrupt father and taking over the CEO role, she thought she could relax and enjoy taking her company to the next level. But an old business rivalry rears its ugly head. When Flynn Adler realizes the woman he’s falling for is none other than the CEO of the firm he needs to take down, he has to make a choice. Does he take care of the woman he’s falling in love with or the business he’s worked a lifetime to build?

Z: A Demonica Novella by Larissa Ione Zhubaal has spent decades searching for the angel he loved and lost nearly a century ago. Not even her death can keep him from trying to find her. But as time passes, he’s losing hope… As an emim, Vex has always felt like a second-class citizen. But if she manages to secure a deal with the Grim Reaper she will have earned her place in the world. The only obstacle in the way of her plan is a sexy hardass called Z. Soon it becomes clear that they have a powerful connection rooted in the past…

FALLING UNDER YOU: A Fixed Trilogy Novella by Laurelin Paige Norma Anders has always prided herself on her intelligence and determination. She climbed out of poverty, put herself through school and is now a chief financial advisor at Pierce Industries. She’s certainly a woman who won’t be topped. Not in business anyway. But she’s pretty sure she’d like to be topped in the bedroom. Unfortunately most men see independence and ambition in a woman and they run. Then the most unlikely candidate steps up. Boyd, her much-too-young and oh-so-hot assistant surprises her one night with bold suggestions and an authoritative demeanor he’s never shown her in the office.

CRAVING HIS COMMAND: A Doms of Genesis Novella by Jenna Jacob Mercy O’Connor—known as Symoné at Club Genesis—craves the chance to experience true surrender. The only problem is, she’s set her sights on sexy, commanding Sir Justice, who studies her with his dissecting, arousing stare…but never offers to show her his ropes. If Kellan Graham let himself believe in love at first sight, Symoné would own his heart. After having his life ripped apart, he’s spent years inventing ways to resist simple lust, but each time this beautiful submissive turns her pleading eyes to him, she ignites a complicated conflagration of desire Kellan can’t fight.

AMERICAN QUEEN by Sierra Simone It starts with a stolen kiss under an English sky, and it ends with a walk down the aisle. It starts with the President sending his best friend to woo me on his behalf, and it ends with my heart split in two. It starts with buried secrets and dangerous desires…and ends with the three of us bound together with a hateful love sharper than any barbed wire.

Every Dark Nights tale is breathtakingly sexy and magically romantic.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Note: I have read all the stories in this book but two. I skipped Falling under you by Laurelin Paige because there is no way I am touching a book by this author for the next 10 years. I still haven't forgiven her for what she did to Gwen and JC's Story. So, I skipped this novella without a second thought. Second I didn't read American Queen by Sierra Simone because I know that this story ends with a cliffhanger and I don't have the time to read the second book. Also, I am waiting for the third book to be released so I can read them all together. *The reviews for the last 2 novella's are kind of spoiler-ish)

Rough Rhythm by Tessa Bailey got 2 stars from me. It's my second least favorite novella. There was so much talk about James and his dark desires and how he wasn't the best option for Lita, but what we got was not as hot and dangerous as it was supposed to be. It lacked some sexiness and I didn't like the characters a lot. They didn't have the chemistry I am expecting from the main couple of in the book I am reading. I was happy to see the heroine chasing after the hero though because it's always the other way around.

Devoted by Lexi Blake is the story that was published a couple of months before Dominance Never Dies, the first book I got my hands on in the Masters and Mercenaries series and I was very happy to fill one of the gaps I had about the characters. I saw some familiar faces even if my favorite one was only mentioned. I have to add Bridget's book on my TBR-ASAP right behind Ian and Charlie's. I loved that woman.  Amy and Flynn were the best couple out of the four. I loved seeing them together and they had great chemistry. Flynn might have acted like an a-hole by not telling Amy the truth, but I understand his reasoning. He also made one of the grandest grand gestures I have read over the years and he was able to win me over and make me think of him as one of the greatest book boyfriends I had the pleasure to read about. Amy is a very good heroine. I liked her quite a lot and she is definitely a good example of a strong woman in a novel. 5 stars for this story.

Z by Larissa Ione needed to be a full length novel. The characters needed more time to develop and mature. Vex is a strong heroine I'll give her that and normally I would have been on her side, but she wasn't able to convince me. Zhubaal is kind of weak for a hero. I felt like he had to give up his beliefs for the last 140 years while Vex never accepted the truth. I would have liked seen Zhubaal going out with someone other than Vex and make the novella more angsty. The twist was a little predictable, to be honest and I would have preferred it if it wasn't included. I wanted to see Vex trying to understand Zhubaal and his vow as much as she wanted him to leave the past behind and move forward. The only reason I am giving 3 stars to this novella is the first ten chapters or so, when the story had a good pace and I enjoyed reading it.

Finally, we have Craving His Command by Jenna Jacob the worst novella of the four.  The worst book boyfriend of the year goes tooooo ..Kellan! The dude who is still in love with his wife and goes on "dates" with her at the clinic she has lived for the past five years since she got hit by a drunk driver and became a vegetable. They also happen to have a daughter who is 5 years younger than the heroine aka Mercy. Who gave her back hole to a dude who ended up abusing her. I don't know why we needed to read that. I also don't know why we had to read about Kellan having an emotionless arrangement with a woman whom he uses for his release. I didn't want to read about them doing it. He couldn't keep it in his pants for 5 years while he was still loving his wife. Just use your hand dude. He tried to keep some distance from Mercy because she was threatening his feelings for his wife, but he was ok with the other woman. Sure dude, whatever you say. I am giving 1 star to this novella. It wasn't for me and I wanted to give it up by the time I was reading chapter three. If it wasn't for my curious nature I wouldn't have finished the book.

About the 1001 Dark Nights: Bundle Ten Authors-

Tessa Bailey Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans and laptop, driving cross-country to New York City in under four days. Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention. She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband of eight years and four-year-old daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.
