Racer Amazon.jpg

A bad boy with something to prove.
A woman with a mission.
The race of their lives.
The love of a lifetime.
I don’t think his parents expected him to live up to his name—Racer Tate—but once he felt the adrenaline rush behind the wheel, he was addicted.
He's the fastest, fiercest driver around.
Scouting new talent brings me to his doorstep...
but his smile sends me to my knees.
The sexy, mysterious Racer Tate is not the kind of man a girl like me falls for. He's secretive, reckless, elusive. But his proximity pushes me beyond reason, and his kiss....
This is our last chance to win, and he is our only hope. I'm supposed to watch him—make sure he doesn't get into trouble. But it's an impossible task. And now the one in heart wrenching, toe-curling, soul-crushing trouble is me. Because when your heart belongs to someone, their truths become your own, and their secrets become your salvation...or your curse.
He says he wants me. He says I'm the One. But he also thinks he'll break my heart, one piece at a time until it's gone.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

When I requested an ARC for this book, I didn't notice the hero's last name. I don't even think I read the blurb because this is Katy Evans we are talking about. So far all the books of hers I have read have gotten 4 or 5 stars and I didn't think this book would be the exception and it's not. He is so much like his father, so there wasn't a chance I wouldn't love him as much as I love Remy. I loved Racer, both the book and the character.  Racer might have taken a different direction for his career, but he is just as possessive as Remy. He kept saying that we would Marry Lana since the middle of the book, so I wasn't worried about him sleeping with some groupie. He is truly devoted to her and that made me love him more. Who doesn't want a man like him? If I could pull him out of the book and have him in real life I would. He is a well-written character, who is the alpha male without giving me the feeling of being overbearing or over the top. He was acting like I was expecting him to, maybe because of his genes. Speaking of genes, I was very happy to see Remy and Brook again. It's too bad we didn't get to see them more. We also meet Violet, their daughter. I hope she will also get a book. I like her already.

Lana is a great heroine. She is devoted to her family and a good person. I liked her from the start. He recruited Racer to help her father's sinking F1 team and from the moment they met sparks were flying. Her brothers were interesting characters and I am hoping they will get their own books. This way we can see Lana and Racer. They love Lana and they want to protect her, so I know they will do great things for their ladies.

I don't know a lot of things about F1, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the book even if racing is a big part of it. Everything was simple and I was a happy lady. There isn't a thing in this book that I didn't like and that's the reason I am giving Racer a nomination for my top reads of 2017. Time flew when I read the book and I didn't want the story to end. Everything was balanced and I had a great time reading this book that kept me up all night.

Excerpt:

I’m still reeling. While people approach him, he cuts a path straight to me, his gaze penetrating and target-like; making me want to bolt. His lips do that little upward tilt they do that seems so sexy, and for a second, I feel like I’m lightheaded. I gulp, and then feel mad at myself for acting like some idiot as fucking devil-Racer Tate reaches me, throws himself into a seat next to me, and turns to look at me expectantly with the most gorgeous grin on his face. I don’t know what to say. This guy has left me sort of speechless. “So … ” I say, staring in the distance at his beat-up mustang, then at him. “So … ” he says too, in his deep voice, his smile a little more wicked than it was two seconds ago. He glances at my mouth. Oh god. Why am I licking my lips? It only made his eyes narrow and darken. I open my mouth to speak, failing to find words. He smells like sweat and soap and shampoo, and I feel my traitorous nipples push up to my top again. Why do they do that when he’s around? “This is illegal,” I state. His voice is husky from exertion, and his eyes glint with laughter. “That’s why it’s fun.” I look away from his eyes, trying to focus and clear my head. He leans over and peers into my face, his face shadowed by the moonlight and his jaw now carrying a little scruff. “Are we in agreement?” he presses. “No.” I glare and shake my head, meeting his cocky gaze. “You’re reckless, Racer.” “So are you, Alana.” “It’s just … Lana.” His brows fly up in surprise. “And a bit of a liar too.” I purse my lips, still glaring as my gaze goes back to his car. Girls are rubbing against it as if it were him, and I find it disgusting. Why are women always acting so slutty around race car drivers and bad boys? “You crashed your car,” I say flippantly. “You crashed my car,” he contradicts, amused. I laugh, then scowl in his direction. “You crashed it more. I can’t believe you were making such a fuss about me crashing into you when it was just a little kiss—” He leans in to peck my lips—fast but firmly. “That’s a kiss.” I lose my breath. My eyes wide. He eases back, lips smiling as he comes to his feet and stretches his hand out to take me by the elbow and help me to my feet. “Let’s get out of here.” He starts walking, leading the way. “And go where?” “Anywhere I can get my hands on you.”

About THE NEXT GENERATION

Fitting in can be hard for anyone. But for Julian and Nika Adams, it’s especially challenging. Born as partial vampires, a rare offshoot of pureblood vampires, the twins have had to deceive people their entire lives—distancing themselves from their peers.
Nika desperately wants a hero, a soulmate, someone she can trust with every fibre of her soul—someone as amazing as her father. The boys at her high school aren’t impressing, but luckily for Nika, Hunter Evans has moved into the neighborhood.
Julian desperately wishes he could sever the empathic bond he has with his sister. While it was fun to experience each other’s emotions when they were kids, now that Julian finds himself pining for a girl he can’t have, sharing his feelings is the last thing he wants to do.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

I have been waiting to read this book for a long time. Heck, is number 715 on my TBR list and it had been 5 years since I read the third book in the series. Now my body and mind are ready for the next three books in the Conversion series or just the kid's trilogy as I like to call it. The story is being told from Jullian and Nika's point of view, so we get to see what is happening in the lives of both children. Nika and Julian are very close and they practically do everything together, but not in a bad way. They are partners in crime. The book had a good pace. Everything was slowly building up until the truth came out about some characters and then all hell broke loose. It bugs me that I have to wait for the other two books. I want to see Nika happy. And because I am an idiot I read the blurb for the 6th book and now I am dying to read book six to find out what will happen. I am sure a happy ending awaits Nika and Julian, but I want them to have it now. Emma and Teren got theirs. I was so happy to see them again after such a long time. I don't think someone should skip the original trilogy and immediately begin this one. I feel like they will have a better experience after they read Emma and Teren's story. There is a love square in this story, but for some reason, it didn't tire me as other triangles have. I am happy it was resolved in this book and it won't continue to the next book. I was very happy with the choices that were made.  Nika, on the other hand, has found her love, but things are not as easy as they seem. Her boyfriend has a lot of deadly secrets and once the truth is out, things get worse. Julian's square stops being the focus and we get to see our vamps in action. I am not very sure about how happy I am with the turn the events took in this book. I want to see how the characters will adapt. Arghhhh, why is January so far away??? I want the next book now!

Read an excerpt of THE NEXT GENERATION now:

A slice of anger ran up my spine—I shivered with the strength of it. As I closed my eyes, intense, rolling hatred seared my body, tightened my muscles. I wasn’t angry at Arianna’s comment; I actually found it rather amusing. No, the anger scorching my soul wasn’t coming from me, but from Julian. And it was strong. He was pissed. My eyes snapped to where I could feel him in the gym. He was moving away from the massive room, hopefully coming out to join me. Curiosity and concern blossomed in my chest. I really wanted to know why Julian was so angry. Although, knowing him, I did have one guess… “I’ll work on that…” I murmured to Arianna as I felt Julian leave the gym and enter the boy’s locker room. Frowning, I wondered what the heck he was doing. His anger had spiked as he’d left the gym, not diminished. My concern heightened. I should go see what’s wrong with him. Knowing Julian could feel me just as well as I could feel him, I tried to squelch the worry bubbling inside my stomach. I even tried sending calming feelings Julian’s way, but it wasn’t working. Whatever had him riled up wasn’t letting go; he was getting angrier and angrier. Arianna laughed, then she started going into elaborate detail about all the dates she wanted to go on, and which boy she wanted to take on them—she had about five or six mapped out already. Tuning her out, I tried listening for my brother. I couldn’t hear him through the people and structures in the way though. My ears just weren’t enhanced enough. It irritated me sometimes that my family’s gifts were weaker in Julian and me—the two of us were much more human than vampire. But that allowed us to feel more normal than the others, and I did appreciate that fact. The limitations were just really inconvenient at times. While any of the other vampires in my family could have easily picked out the conversation Julian was having, all I was getting was low, husky murmuring. But his emotions were simmering, and that was all I needed to know. Glancing at Arianna, I gathered all my stuff and zipped up my bag. She raised an eyebrow, but didn’t pause in telling me all about her imaginary date rock climbing with Jake McKinley. Giving her a soft smile, so she didn’t get too suspicious, I started to stand. “I’ll be right back, Arianna, I—” Dread locked up my muscles, and I halted mid-sentence and mid-stance. Fear. Julian was feeling fear now. His anger had been rising to a boiling point, but now it had shifted to stark terror, and I had no idea why. Dropping my bag to the ground, I hauled ass across the football field. “Nika? Where are you going? What’s wrong?” I ignored Arianna’s concern and kept running. I had to get to Julian. I could have blurred to him in a split-second, but hampering my abilities had been drilled into me since birth, and I wouldn’t go against that training unless the situation absolutely demanded it. And when Julian’s fear shifted to panic…I began to believe that the situation demanded it. But knowing that Arianna was staring at me as I ran away curbed the desire to blur to Julian. I wouldn’t freak out my friend if I could help it. And aside from extreme panic and lingering fear, Julian was okay. Well, he wasn’t in pain at any rate. Pulling open the doors to the gym, the metal singing in complaint at my force, I suddenly felt a rush of agony. Gasping, I paused in my step. The zing of hurt had exploded over me, almost like I’d felt it myself. I hadn’t, though; it was separate from my own feelings of fearful concern. The pain had come from Julian…and renewed anger came right behind it. Once I was inside the gymnasium, my hearing finally picked him up. He was cursing, and there was a lot of scuffling. It sounded like he’d gotten himself into a fight. Odd. Julian wasn’t one to pick on people. But then again, if what had happened earlier in the gym to make him so happy was what I was afraid it was…then yeah, he might have started this fight. Cursing under my breath as another bout of pain lashed Julian’s body, I glanced around the empty halls. Seeing it was clear, I sped off after Julian. In mere seconds, I was at the edge of a group of people in the boy’s locker room. They were all cheering on a couple of guys going at it in the center. Two bodies were sprawled on the tile floor of the open shower, wild punches being slung everywhere. From the blood bond and our emotional connection, I knew Julian was amid the melee. Silence shocked me for a second as I stood on the periphery and watched my brother through the cracks in the teenagers surrounding him. He’d gained the upper hand and was straddling a senior: Russell Morrison. I watched in horror as Julian successfully landed a punch to Russell’s jaw. So many racing heartbeats thudded in the room…it was nearly deafening. What the hell? Knowing that our supernatural strength was superior to every other kid at this school made fear cut through my startled state. Julian could seriously hurt Russell if he wasn’t careful, and with the amount of pain and anger Julian was feeling right now, he didn’t seem to be worried about being careful anymore. He was completely out of control. “Julian!” I screeched, an edge of panic to my voice. He could not get in a fight with a pure human. He’d accidentally kill him.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Can we just get Roman's book and make me happy? I was hoping to have his relationship with the rest of the family mended by the end of this book, but as it turns out his lady is going to be the one who will show him how much they love him and that he is a blind idiot. I didn't like having a sad Mathias because of it. I hope the next book will be released soon because I like Happily Inc. and the people who live in this town. Silver has to find her happily ever after too. I don't know who is going to be her man (Drew maybe?), but she is a good character and I would like to see her more.

Besides Mathias and Carol, another couple gets their happily ever after in this book as a secondary plot. Violet, Carol's sister, and Ulrich, an Englishman with a title, who came to Happily Inc. to accuse Violet of stealing. Isn't that a great way to begin a love story? Your future husband travels across the ocean to accuse you of something horrible while in your mind you have great memories of him and you dancing. These two could have gotten their own book, but I liked their story as it is. For me, they had a better story than Mathias and Carol.

If I exclude Carol and Mathia's relationship, this book was great, but I thought that a spark was missing between the two main characters. Their chemistry wasn't explosive enough but with everything that went on in this book, it was hard to realize it until the book was finished and I had to recap it in my mind. I had strong feelings for Mathia's parents though. I disliked his mother because she should have stood up for her children, but feel sympathetic towards her because she was lost one of her sons for something that wasn't her fault.  We all hate Mathia's father and there is no excuse for him, especially after finding out some stuff he did to Mathias.

Despite the lack of a spark between the two main characters, I liked this book. There are simply too many things going on in this book for one aspect of them to make me see the whole book in a negative light. For romance, I got the button lover Violet and her man, Ulrich.

Review:

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Theirs to take is the newest book in the Blasphemy series. It's the first book to have three people as the main characters which was something I wanted to read about. I am all about triads and I was happy to finally see one after a long time. The thing about triads though is that they can be tricky. You have to make the reader fall for three people and let them develop as individuals. The length of this book didn't leave much room for development or too much romance. Cruz, Jonathan and Hartley took their sweet time before they started having a non-platonic thing which limited the time they got to spend together. From an early point in the book, you can see that Cruz and Jonathan have feelings for each other even though none of them said anything about them before. This upgrade on their relationship needed more time to happen and I wanted more M/M scenes.

I feel like something was missing from the book. I wasn't a satisfied reader. This story needed something more to be complete. The story had potential and I was very excited to read it, but somewhere along the way, I lost my interest.I am not happy to say that because I  usually love Laura Kaye's books, but this time I just wasn't so into the story. I was excited about the crossover with the Steele brothers series by Jennifer Probst though. I had the book in my kindle, so I didn't have to wait long to find out what happened to Hartley's friend Scarlett and Leo. The only reason I am recommending this book is the author and the book's connection to this series and Reveal me by Jennifer Probst.

Review:

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

I have mixed feelings for The Beautiful Now. The constant flashbacks were tiring and they were a large part of this book. I wanted more time spent on seeing what was happening in the present rather than reading details about Dane and Brinkley when they were 17 or younger. While I am certain that Dane was always in love with Brinkley, I cannot keep by thinking that he had a (minor) thing for Lauren and he was just trying to cover it up with excuses. Brinkley is a nice character. I wasn't the biggest fan of hers but I sympathized with her. I cannot tell you much because I would spoil a big part of the book, unfortunately. There too many things going on in this book and I cannot say a thing because the blurb doesn't reveal much. I wanted to talk about the reasons I liked Brinkley, but I can't. She is a strong person whose life hasn't been the easiest, but she made it through. Dane was a boy who was never quite accepted by the people of his city simply because he wasn't rich. He loved Brinkley back then and they had a weird relationship back then because Brinkley's stepfather, Alton, was a mean man, to put it mildly. You will understand what I mean once you read the book. He changed over the years and his hatred for Alton was going strong which is no surprise. What surprised me was his reaction to some things from the past. Considering his anger and everything I would have expected a more dramatic reaction with a few bad words in it. I liked his reaction though. He didn't need any more drama in his life and he is a good man. I didn't fall for him like Brinkley did, but I liked him a lot as a character. If the story had fewer flashbacks and more time in the present I would have liked the book a little more. The ending of this book is nice, but a little cliched in my opinion. I am usually a sucker for those things, but I felt like it was a usual and completely expected ending.

Release Blitz: Royal Pain (His Royal Hotness) by Tracy Wolff

  Blurb:

He’s a womanizer. He’s cocky. He’s not exactly a prince. Only he technically is. Meet your new royal obsession in this addictive novel from New York Times bestselling author Tracy Wolff. Being rich opens a lot of doors. When you’re rich and royal, those doors lead to a new bedroom every night. I should know. The tabloids call me His Royal Hotness, Prince Kian of Wildemar. Women across the world see me as a naughty fairy tale, an image I’m happy to indulge. As the spare to the heir, I’m the prince with none of the power . . . and all of the perks. Then my twin brother is kidnapped, and suddenly I’m the one who could be king. The crown chasers start circling—and yet it’s a luscious waitress who catches my eye. With a smart mouth and the curves to back it up, Savannah Breslin is as brazen as I’d expect an American commoner to be. But Savvy’s not interested in playing Cinderella. As sexy as she is, she’s no stranger to heartbreak. Besides, a nice guy wouldn’t drag her into all the drama that comes along with royalty. Lucky I’m not a nice guy. And, as it turns out, I might not even be her first prince. . . .

Excerpt

“What if I promise to stay in view of the windows the whole time?” I tell them. “I’ll park myself right there in front of that one and you can make sure I’m safe.” Lucas looks like he wants to argue, but I cut him off before he can even start. “Come on, man. You’ve got to give me something. I like this woman.” He sighs, but in the end—above the very vocal protests of the very serious Avery—he nods. “In sight the whole time,” he orders and for a moment I feel like a junior high kid on his first date. But beggars can’t be choosers and I know, better than most, what a disaster it would be if something happened to the spare three months after the heir disappeared. Wildemar would be in absolute chaos. There’s no way I’d put my country through that, girl or no girl. “I promise. And if I disappear from sight for more than five seconds, you have my permission to come crashing in after me.” “I think you’re forgetting,” Niall says with a narrow-eyed look, “we don’t need your permission.” “Geez. Way to be a killjoy.” “Yeah, well, someone in this relationship has to be.” “Aww, Niall.” I slap his ass with my free hand on my way by. “Don’t you know it’s more fun when everyone’s having a good time?” Lucas snorts and Avery sounds like he’s strangling on his own tongue. I can’t help grinning as I make my way to Savvy’s front door. Maybe it won’t take as long to break in my new bodyguard as I was afraid of. I can hear music through the open windows, Shakira’s “Hips Don’t Lie,” and I can’t help thinking about the way Savvy’s hips looked in her black work pants. Can’t help wondering about what she’s wearing now—and whether or not she’ll let me get another good look at her luscious, heart-shaped ass. At least she’s home, I tell myself as I knock. While I knew she wasn’t scheduled to work, I was afraid she might be running errands or something. She’s at the front door in seconds, her big brown eyes wide and inquiring . . . at least until her gaze meets mine. “What are you doing here?” she demands. “Wow, way to make a guy feel welcome.” I hold the flowers out to her. “These are for you.” “Thanks, but I’m allergic.” She starts to close the door in my face, but I get a foot wedged in before she can shut it completely. “Are you seriously allergic?” I ask, still holding out the flowers. What I really want to ask is Are you seriously going to slam the door in my face? “No.” She studies the blooms for a couple of seconds before snatching them out of my hand. Then she really does close the door and I’m so surprised I don’t do anything to stop her. Behind me Lucas, Niall and even Avery are full-on laughing now. In fact, I’m pretty sure the only thing keeping them from absolutely annihilating me is the fact that I am still their prince. That somehow only makes it worse. Gritting my teeth, I ignore them (and try not to remember the good old days when I could have had them banished to the dungeon) as I lift my hand to knock again. But before my knuckles can even meet the wood, the door flies open again and Savvy is standing there, smiling hugely at me. “I’m just messing with you,” she says as she pulls me inside. “But I have to say, your expression was priceless. Is that the first time a woman’s ever shut the door in your face?” I think about. “I’m pretty sure it is.” “I figured. But hey, now you can cross it off your bucket list. Every guy needs to have the experience at least once, don’t you think?” “I think I was good without it ever happening, actually. Definitely didn’t feel like I was missing anything.” “Maybe not,” she concedes. But then she grins and it’s so wicked, so wild, that I can feel it all the way to my bones. “You’ve got to admit it was funny, though. God, if you could have seen your face.” “I’d rather look at yours.” The cheesy line pops out of nowhere and I’m not sure which one of us is more shocked. Shit. What the hell is happening to me? Savvy throws me off balance just by breathing, and I don’t have a clue what I’m supposed to do to stop it. Or even if I want to stop it. God knows, every time she opens her mouth—or closes a door in my face or spills a glass of champagne on me—it only makes me hotter. Only makes me want her more. There’s something about how she’s always doing the unexpected, always surprising me, always challenging me, that turns me on in a big fucking way. The little white shorts and tiny red camisole don’t hurt, either. And I know I’m not the only one, know the heat isn’t only on my side. I’ve been with enough women in my life to know when one’s attracted to me, and Savvy is, even if she doesn’t want to be. Half of me wants to push on that a little bit, wants to see where it’ll take me if I get in her space right now. But the other half doesn’t want to risk it, not yet. Not with this woman who is a lot of things, but definitely not predictable. Besides, I’m pretty sure my time allotment is reaching its upper limits, and I don’t doubt that Avery will come crashing through the front door in about thirty seconds if I don’t get where he can see me. “Do you want some lemonade?” Savvy asks as she starts walking toward the kitchen. “I’d love some. But do you mind if I hang out here while you get it?” I take a few steps to the left, making sure to line myself up directly in front of the window. She turns to me, eyebrows raised, and I figure I might as well own up to the problem. “My babysitters like to keep an eye on me at all times,” I tell her as I point out the window. She glances from me to where Niall, Lucas and Avery are standing on the sidewalk in their suits, eyes trained on me—and her. I expect her to be a little annoyed—most women who aren’t crown chasers usually are—but Savvy just laughs and waves. “I’ll pour five glasses of lemonade,” she tosses over her shoulder as she makes her way to the kitchen. “Get comfortable and I’ll be right back.” From another woman, the invitation to get comfortable would mean she’s down to fuck, but I’m pretty sure Savvy just wants me to take a seat. More’s the pity.   [br]

About the Author

Tracy Wolff collects books, English degrees and lipsticks and has been known to forget where—and sometimes who—she is when immersed in a great novel. At six she wrote her first short story—something with a rainbow and a prince—and at seven she forayed into the wonderful world of girls lit with her first Judy Blume novel. By ten she’d read everything in the young adult and classics sections of her local bookstore, so in desperation her mom started her on romance novels. And from the first page of the first book, Tracy knew she’d found her life-long love. Now an English professor at her local community college, she writes romances that run the gamut from contemporary to paranormal to erotic suspense. And for all of those who want the unedited version: Tracy Wolff lives with four men, teaches writing to local college students and spends as much time as she can manage immersed in worlds of her own creation. Married to the alpha hero of her dreams for twelve years, she is the mother of three young sons who spend most of their time trying to make her as crazy as possible.

Review:

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars

Maverick= the worst hero I have read about. The dude couldn't keep it in his pants. He was horny all the time as he said, so am I supposed to forgive him for sticking it into 2 different ladies in this book? The first time happened around 25% of the book after just having met Scarlett so I let that pass. But the second time happened at 50% in an alley and he missed Scarlett's concert because of it? And I have no idea why would he do that when he was pursuing Scarlett. Was he so horny he couldn't keep it in his pants after things didn't go further with Scarlett? And he did it in an alley. Why do it in a public place? Of course Scarlett saw them and minutes later she let Maverick kiss her because "his lips hadn't touched anyone" in a year. But his member did a lot of touching in this book. How am I supposed to accept that he loves her after that? Honestly, and excuse me for my language, I think Maverick is happy to have a hole to stick it into because I won't call this book a romance book. There is no love on Mavericks part. He slept with two other women after meeting Scarlett and his thoughts on Scarlett seeing him with the blonde were that she shouldn't act like he cheated on her because they are not together. But a few days later he says that he loves Scarlett. How am I supposed to take him seriously after that? How can I like a man who prefers to fuck other women rather than spend time with the woman he supposedly loves? After the second woman, I started hating the book. The cherry on top of the cake came when Maverick had to prove that he trusted Scarlett and actually show some love and compassion to her. He was supposed to trust her and support her. I am sure you can guess what he did. He got angry at her without learning her side of the story, ignored her, abused her (he was manhandling her and the sex scene seemed a little too rough and forced for me) and he immediately thought that she was with the bad guys. As you can see Maverick is made out of pure perfect male materials. I wish Scarlett had chosen to leave him and find her happy ending elsewhere.

That, of course, wouldn't happen because Scarlett is the definition of dormant. She lets her manager run over her and she doesn't fire her. There is no indication that her firm is forcing her to keep Susan and she doesn't owe her anything, so I don't understand why she was keeping her. Her second and biggest mistake is Maverick. I don't understand why she loves him. She saw him having sex with another woman, she run away and after he pulled his dick out he ran after her. When he caught her she let him kiss her and almost had sex. GJ Scarlett. You got a real catch there. Then when she needs him to support her he is not answering his phone and basically accuses her of being with the bad guys, Maverick never trusted her and was always questioning her. In the end, he wasn't there when she needed him the most. I could have a moment with anyone like she did with Maverick, but in the end, I want someone to protect me and support me. So, someone who is the complete opposite of Maverick. I don't understand why she chose him and forgave him. I would spend the rest of my life wondering if he is doing someone else while I wasn't with him. The only good choice Scarlett made was keeping Amalie close. I believe that she and Mal will have a good story and they are the only reason I am considering reading the next book.

P.S. While the story of this "couple" ends in this book, the story about the bad guys continues in the second book.
