PACK RULE #5: HAPPY MATE, HAPPY FATE.
Fate has it in for me.
She’s sent me a human vet to stay in the bunkhouse. With me.
I might not have the wolf scent, but I have the hearing.
I learn she’s a virgin. I offer her two weeks.
Two weeks where I’ll show her a large animal. One she can’t resist.
Or at least one who can’t resist her.
I’ll prove she doesn’t know everything about four-legged beasts.
Especially not the fiercest ones who stalk their prey in the night.
Especially not one determined to prey on her.
Me.
Review:
Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars
Fierce is the fifth book in the Wolf Ranch series by Renee Rose and Vanessa Vale. Each book is a stand-alone, but I would recommend reading the books in order because this book contained spoilers about what happened in the previous four and especially about the story of Feral (book #3). I have to admit that Feral was the best in the series so far with Savage coming to a very close second.
It's not like this book was bad, but I had a couple of issues with it. The biggest one was Charlie's secret. I don't want to say much, so I will keep it to the minimum. Since it is revealed early on, Charlie has ordered a large amount of Ketamine that's going to be sold as a drug. I found the reason behind her actions to be weak as a motive she should have acted in a more reasonable way.
Another thing that bothered me is this line from the blurb "But I knew the first time I caught her scent she belonged to me." The problem is that Levi has not shifted into a wolf not even once in his life and he is not 100% certain that she is his mate, so he is holding a little bit back. He still has the possessive traits a wolf does and I liked him a lot.
The book had some good and some bad points. For me it's the weakest in the series, but overall it wasn't bad. Just not as good as the others.
