Blurb: I need a fake date. She needs my late-night expertise. Now, if we can just keep our hands off each other...

As the premier best-man-for hire in all of Manhattan, I promise discretion, so when I need a plus one for a couple of "I dos," I turn to my gorgeous, clever, witty best friend's sister. She's my good friend, too, and I lust after her completely. I mean, I TRUST her completely.

After all, just look how she's kept her lips sealed about the hot, multi-O night we spent together.
Yes, just look at those sexy lips.

In any case, we only fell off the wagon once, and it was months ago. I'm sure we can make it through these weddings without banging each other in the limo.

Or can we?

INSTANT GRATIFICATION is a sexy, standalone romantic comedy!

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

Instant Gratification is the second book in the Always Satisfied series by Lauren Blakely.

Truly is Malone's sister from Satisfaction Guaranteed and Jason his friend. Malone himself makes an appearance or two in this book. The stories of the couples from the next two books were also teased. It was cruel since both books seemed very good. All the stories in the series have couples that share history and that worries me a bit, to be honest. I am not a huge fan of the second chance romance. Thankfully in this book, Truly and Jason had just hooked up a few months before the events of the book and there was nothing more between them (romantically speaking). Both of them kept their mouths shut about it, but the chemistry was there and it made it obvious to everyone that these two would end up in some way romantically together. I loved Malones' reaction to the situation. It was very mature and I was surprised by it.

The book was a little slow and honestly, I stopped it for a couple of days and picked it up later because I had to review it. The pace got faster and the romance started going after a while, which made the book easier to read and get into. It wasn't one of the author's best works in my opinion, but it wasn't bad either. I wanted something more, maybe a little less focus on Jason and Truly's jobs, but honestly, it worked for their characters. They are workaholics and not even love could push that aside.

Overall, the book had some good and some bad parts. Fortunately, the good outweighs the bad and I am able to go with a 3.5 star rating, which I will round up on Amazon and GR.

Re: Confessions of a Bad Girl

I am the worst twin sister in the world. The absolute worst. How could I do this?
And by this, I mean engage in earth-shattering, toe-curling, bend-me-over-the-bed-and-take-me-hard sex with my brother’s best friend. By the way, did I mention the sex was incredible?
Oh, wait. I did.
But I’m not surprised, because I’ve always liked his company. He’s funny and clever, and he has this irreverent side that’s fascinating and wildly entertaining.
But we were only supposed to go snowboarding.
WE’VE SNOWBOARDED TOGETHER BEFORE WITHOUT INCIDENT.
It all seemed innocuous, right? A day on the slopes in January.
At the end of the final run, the sun had already set, and we headed into the ski lodge and made plans to meet for dinner.
I didn’t even drink at dinner. Neither did he. We just talked the whole time, and there was candlelight. Stupid candlelight. And he was flirting, and he always flirts, but this time . . . this time we weren’t in New York. We were far enough away I could forget everything that went wrong years ago.
