Review:
Hated you then is the first half of the Love Hurts duet and obviously ends with a cliffhanger and it's not a stand alone. The main characters are Jackson and Harley.
I would call this book a prequel to Harley and Jason's story because the prologue reveals where the characters are in present time, but the rest of the story happens in the past. We don't even know what age our characters will be in the second book since we only get the "Age x" line in the beginning of some chapters. I am guessing we will have a big time jump because I don't see Harley forgiving Jackson anytime soon. I was told that I should avoid spoilers while writing my review and that's why I will only say that one of my biggest pet peeves was in the end of the book and for some reason I can't fault the character who was responsible for that. Honestly, for what felt like the whole book, Jackson and Harley hate each other or at least they pretend they do but deep inside they love each other. Both were teenagers when the book ended and some things can be forgiven I guess. I am conflicted and I can't even decide on the rating, so I am not rating the book.
Most of the time I felt like our main characters were not acting their age. I mean when they were 12 for example they were talking about football players and cheerleaders and touching boobs. Wasn't that a little too early for them?
I feel more confused than ever when it comes to this book and conflicted. I also feel like I know what is gonna happen next and it makes me uncertain as to whether or not I wanna read the next book. I am going to say a theory, so consider yourselves warned.
Harley is so gonna sleep with Cash because it would be the best revenge against Jackson. An Jackson will become a manwhore. They will reunite after college or something like that.
