Since the moment we found out that Brindle is pregnant in Trails of love, I have bee dying to read this book. I wanted to find out who the baby daddy was (it was mentioned that both of them had been with other people on their off days) and how Trace and Brindle were going to stop and cycle and actually become a healthy couple. We find out early on who is the daddy and as we move forward we see how Brindle and Trace are handling the pregnancy.
I was expecting more from the story and the author. I usually love her books, but this one did not work for me. I am not sure if it was due to the fact that I was expecting something specific from the story or the writing. I wanted Trace to realize that it didn't matter whose baby Brindle was carrying and that they could be a family early in the story, so they could try the steady couple-ish route. Neither character is very mature and they are struggling with finding the right way to fix things and finally become a couple. This is one of the few times I was wishing that the secondary characters wouldn't appear as much and they would leave room for the couple to figure things out.
As I turned the final page, I realized that I was disappointed. I didn't find it bad and the story was easy to read. I was just wishing for things to have happened in a slightly different way.
