Play mate is the second book in the roommates series by Kendall Ryan and my opinion a better addition to the series. It had a common thread with the first book (falling on love with best friends brother or sister). Unlike the room mate though, I liked the sibling in the play mate. Cullen might have not accepted Evie and Smith together at first, but he didn't sabotage it or got very negative about it. The book is truly a stand alone. I am positively sure we haven't met the characters before. I would like to know if the author will find a way to connect her books in this series. I don't understand why the author created a series if only the title serves are common thread. I mostly liked the book, but I disliked the silly drama in the end. I liked Smith as a brother and increase as well as a person and potential man for Evie. He wasn't hiding from his feelings or trying to find excuses for them. And unlike most people he tried to keep Evie away because he valued his friendship too much. Evie was a good heroine. She might have jumped into conclusions but she is a nice person and very likeable. I felt like she neglected her friend once she and Smith got together. Play mate deserves a 5 star rating and a recommendation.
