Boston Heat #1
Gina L. Maxwell

Ex-Army Ranger Erik Grady lives for the job. So when his chief at the Boston Fire Department offers him two choices—mandated therapy for supposed PTSD or a permanent desk job at the station, he reluctantly agrees to see a shrink. Only this doctor is unlike anything he expected. Female and curved in all the right places? Check. Hotter than a four-alarm fire? Check. The kind of woman that can heat his blood in and out of bed? Check, check. And oh, yeah, he just happens to have firsthand experience...
Of all the men to walk into psychologist Olivia Jones' office, why did it have to be him? Her one-night stand isn't playing by the rules of just. One. Night. She’s had her heart broken in the past, and no way is she going there again. And now he's blackmailing her into three dates? Well, if that's what it takes to make him see a different therapist, fine. She can handle it. So what if the chemistry between them is combustible? She's a professional, damn it. She'll date Mr. I'm Too Sexy For My Bunker Pants. But it won’t end in the fun he expects.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
After Ruthless I was a little afraid to read the book. You never know when a weird kink will kick in. Thankfully Hot for the fireman was a good book and I enjoyed reading it. I liked Olivia. She is one of the nicest heroines I had the pleasure about to read in a while. She is not a wilting wallflower but has a back bone and a sense of logic. Her profession fits her to a T. She is a strong person. Erik is not a bad hero either. I liked him too. He is persistent and he is a very good much for Olivia even he sometimes didn't make the right choices. To be fair he thought he was doing the best for Olivia so I cannot be mad at him. The story was good. I liked how Erik's PTSD was handled and how it was worked out in the book. Also both, Olivia and Erik, handled the whole "The person I slept with is my patient/therapist" very well. I wouldn't have expected Olivia to suggest that someone other than herself should treat Erik. I know it is the obvious thing, but I was expecting something else. I liked what I got in the end. I would recommend the book for an easy and quick read. I am definitely going to read the second book since the author teases us so much about the next couple in the series. I am also planning to read all the books the author plans to write about Erik's friends and colleagues. Every single one of them seemed interesting and I want to see them getting their happy end.
