Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Falling for the Beast is the second and last part of Blake and Erin's story. It has the same tone as book one and the same amount if not more of sex scenes. I was hoping for more plot and character development since I still feel like both of them need to go to a therapist to get over their problems. Since I was expecting those things to happen, I cannot say that I was disappointed with the story I got (much). I liked their story and I liked the characters a lot. They are one of my favorite couples written by Skye Warren and overall their journey was good. I read this book right after I finished Beauty and the Beast and that was the best way to read the books because it was easier to enjoy Blake and Erin's path towards the happily ever after, so if you are reading this, buy both books ASAP.

Tangled Up in You is the final book in The Shaughnessy Brothers series by Samantha Chase. The hero is Anna's brother from Always my girl (book 3) and Teagan is Quinn's cousin. Two things bothered me and led me to give 3.5 stars to the book. The minor problem I had was the epilogue. Since this is the final book, I was expecting it to have a big epilogue with most if not all of the couples from the series. Instead, we got one with Bobby and Teagan only. That did not affect my rating in a negative way, but if I had gotten what I wanted I would have raised my rating. 

The major problem for me and the one that had an impact on my rating was Bobby's past. Half of the book is focused on his dating life before he met Teagan and it's not the first half. He kept saying that he was not the person his family thought he was and basically that they were wrongfully accusing him of sleeping around, but the one time he and Teagan went out, she met three of the women he had slept with. 3. Not one, not two, but three women and one of them had been his ex-partner on the force. I don't understand why we had to hear again and again about his dating life and see the women. Two of them propositioned him with Teagan present. His family was not wrong when they were saying that the was sleeping around. And the worst thing is that Bobby in this book seemed like a grumpy, ungrateful manwhore who couldn't do the right thing. He was not boyfriend material. 

Instead of mentioning the exes, we could have seen him do family activities with Teagan and her son. Lucas was only present when he was needed as a plot device to help Teagan and Bobby be in the same room. In the second half of the book, we mostly heard about him doing a sleepover at Anna or his grandmother's house. I was expecting something better from Samantha Chase since I am a big fan of hers. This is the reason why I am rounding down my rating instead of up.

I am in the very pleasant place to say that I liked this book! It ranked as second best in the series. Yes Clint was douche sometimes, yes there were times I wanted to smack him, but overall the book was good. I know that this might be considered as a spoiler, but I feel the need to mention it since some people might not like it. The only sour part was Bethany's past because it contained sexual and emotional abuse. Her father forced her to do things and I was not ok. But Bethany has emerged as a stronger person and she doesn't let her past define her. 

Clint and Bethany's relationship had a good pace. It developed nicely and in a natural way. Any hesitation on Clint's part can be justified by the short amount of time they knew each other, but to be honest, I didn't mind the small timeframe. There was something about them that was great. 

For once, I remembered since page one that the story is told entirely from the hero's point of view and I didn't mind. Bethany was an easy person to read and I had complete faith in her. I liked her and my heart broke for her. Clint had the potential of being a horrible hero, but thankfully he stayed on the good side. I might not have liked some of his actions/words, but I could understand where he was coming from.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the book. It was easy to read and the romance was good. We saw Max and Keeley many times which added to the pros of the book.

Review:

As with the previous boxset, I will review each book seperately. My average rating is 4 stars, since all three got a 4 star rating from me. 

                                  Elder Bonds

Elder Bonds is the fourth book in the series, but I would call it a filler. It's separated into parts and each one is different. We begin with detailed reports on practically every character we saw in the previous three books and later we get short stories. These stories were a way of getting to know the Elders mostly and filling some blanks since I don't think that they could have been added in the main story and seem natural. For example, we saw how the elders bonded, what happened when Amelia was kidnapped and what B did in Brazil. In this book, we also got to meet B's, future lady. He met her before and I was wondering why he kept sleeping with other women, but I got my answer and I found it fair, so I cannot dislike him for that. If I could describe her with a few words, I would say that she is the female version of B. The only sure thing is that their book will be filled with sex and having read other books by the author and their story, I would say that it won't be just the two of them, so remind me to skip it. Overall this is a light and fast read and a good way to get to know the secondary characters a little bit more. 

PS. The author gave us a treat by including some pictures in this book!

                                         Blood Bonds

I must admit that I skipped some parts of the book because I was running out of time. Mostly, I skipped the romance part I think, but I read the important stuff. It explained a lot of things and revealed details about some of the characters we had met before that we didn't know. Everything is not what it seems. I still cannot come to terms with that revelation about Stark though. One of the good things about this book is Caro and Sethios' relationship. I might have skipped some chapters, but I wanted them to be together and I really hope that the author will give them a happy ending. The book is not exactly a filler, but it also doesn't have to do anything with the main story. If you want you might read this one first and then continue with the rest of the series.

PS. Astasiya's name was explained and I cannot say that I was very happy because I can pronounce the original name, but the one her parents gave her is still an abomination in my mind.

                                            

                                         Angel Bonds

Angel Bonds is the 6th book in the Immortal curse series and what I believed to be the last. As it turns out, 3 more books will be released in the future, which explains why some characters did not a happy end in this book. You have Leela and B, Luc and Eliza, Alik is still alone and of course, let's not forget the secondary characters who made it out alive. With this book, a big chapter in the series closes and our characters did nothing but prepare for the big fight. I find a little ironic that I read the book the same week as Endgame and the third episode of Got were released. A lot of battles have been going on and a lot of stories are ending. Obviously, I cannot say much because unlike the previous two books, the plot of Angel Bonds is happening in the present timeline and big things happened. We finally found what Stas's role is supposed to be and how she and Isaac could have a future together. It's one of the best books in the series if not the best. Now, I wish that the author will stop teasing us about the elders and just give us their stories.

*A couple of notes.* I read book 1 about a month ago, so I just skipped the book the second time. Also, I decided to review each book separately and not the boxset as a whole.

                                Blood Laws: 

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

When I requested to review Blood laws, I wasn't aware that it's not a stand-alone book. The next book will be about a different couple, but we were promised that Isaac and Stas 's story will also continue, so I am guessing either multiple point of views in the upcoming books or time jumps between each book Stas and Isaac get. Btw the heroine's name is not Stas, that's her nickname, but it's easier for me to write. She is mostly called by her full name.

I have read Royally Bitten and I enjoyed it (excluding the threesome) and I wanted to see what else the author had to offer. Well, I had less trouble understanding the rules of that lore instead of the rules in this book. And Blod laws is longer and even has a glossary. Still, if you ask me what is going on, I don't know what to tell you. Many things are happening at the same time and I was a little lost. I found myself enjoyed Blood laws mostly, but something was holding me back from loving it and I was able to put it down and go read something else. When I turned the last page of the book, the first thought I got was "Wait, that's it? We still have so much to find out!". I had the feeling that the story was incomplete and emptiness inside my reader's heart. I don't usually have that problem even with non-stand-alone books, but in this case, even the romance wasn't enough and I found myself thinking that Stas and Isaac have a long road ahead of them. There wasn't a single part of the plotline that had some sort of closure and I have to read book 2 now!

                                   Forbidden Bonds

Forbidden Bonds is the second book in the series and it follows Amelia, Isaac's sister, and Tom, the son of the big bad guy. Tom has spent his life killing immortals, which makes him the enemy of the people we know and love from Blood Laws. He is helping the bad guys to keep Amelia a captive, but he is not evil and he is one of the good ones. He is not aware of all the bad things that are happening and it was very easy for him to choose Amelia's side. For someone who was 6 years captive, Amelia seemed to take everything very well and showed only a few signs of having any stress and traumatic experience. I would have liked to have her feel things that showed that she was a captive who had been tortured because she seemed to be completely ok and it was weird and abnormal. On the bright side, she and Tom had a good story and in the last quarter of the book, things got very intense and made me worry about our characters. It had some action and it had moments that gave room to Tom and Amelia to develop their feelings and bond. I was expecting some Isaac-Stas scenes because the previous book ended in a not-so-nice way, but unfortunately, there was nothing on that front, and that bothered me because I want to know what will happen with them. Even Amelia knows that they don't have a future and I hope that they will find some magical way to fix things.

                                 Blood Heart

Blood Heart is the third book in the series. Lizzie was mentioned in the previous books and we have already met Jay, so I wouldn't consider them new characters. The story had some interesting twists and I saw some of them coming, which made me understand why Blood Bonds is listed as book 5 instead of 0.5. It would ruin many surprises. The book can be read as stand-alone, but I would recommend reading the other 2 books first. What I liked the most about this book is that Isaac and Stas's relationship finally had some development since book 2 had nada. What I hated was Jay. He was in a constant state of horniness and was minutes away from teleporting somewhere to sleep with a woman or 5 when Lizzie interrupted him. He gave me the impression that he wasn't as charmed by Lizzie as the previous heroes had been with their heroines. The hero is a manwhore and the heroine is a virgin. When I finished Forbidden bonds I was so happy that we didn't have this or similar tropes and immediately after this book happened. That's why I know from this moment and on that, I won't read B's book. The sleeping around fits his character, but I am pretty sure that he is a walking STD. 

To be fair to the book, this has to be the one with the most action and answers. A lot of things are going on and a lot of dynamics are shifting. I am not sure if the next two books in the series will provide much info though and I wonder if I should go for book 6 and read the other two later. The story of this book without giving us a lot of closure on some crucial stuff.

A love a book that can take me by surprise. When I was reading chapter 1, I thought that Sonia was going to be my person and it would take me a while to like Brad, but as it turned out, I liked Brad more than I liked Sonia. To be honest, I got the impression that the author wanted to write a different kind of hero than the average one, but she decided to go with the most used and (most hated for me) way by making him a manwhore. Throughout the book, we are reminded that Brad has slept with many women including most if not all of his secretaries, which was not to my liking. In chapter one, we even see him in the bathroom after he did the deed with another woman. But also in chapter one, he admits that he wants a happy marriage and family. So one hand he is the kind of person who sleeps around and on the other, he is looking for a happily ever after, which are opposites. At least he said that he was dating Olivia for her personality. Later on, we see a Brad who is not a douche and loves his nieces like they were his own kids. He is the cool uncle. And I fell for that guy. He is caring and loving and he knows how to plan a date. 

Sonia, on the other hand, seemed a little cold and too hung up on her ex. She just couldn't let go and move on like a normal person, which was something that didn't sit well with me. Another thing that made me not like her so much was the whole sanitary pad scene. I understand why she didn't want to help, but as a woman, I am judging her, because we should always help each other. I can't give more details, but when you read the book or if you already have, please tell me if I am too harsh or if I was right. It helped as a plot device, but I did not like that kind of attitude. 

In the end, Brad and his nieces are the ones who stole my heart. That man was a great hero and I wasn't expecting that. I liked how Sonia's feelings for him were slowly changing and went from hate to love.Their relationship had a nice development and it was one of the book's strongest points.
