Blog Tour: Four Day Fling by Emma Hart

blogtour.jpg

Four Day Fling, an all-new hilarious and romantic standalone from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Emma Hart is available NOW!

FOURDAYFLING3

Imagine this.
You’re ready to leave after a one-night stand, and you’re figuring out how to—shock horror—leave your number and ask him to be your fake boyfriend for your sister’s wedding this weekend.
When he wakes up.
Well, that happened to me. And over coffee and omelets, I found myself a date.
Which was how I ended up arriving at the wedding with a guy I knew nothing about.
I didn’t know his last name, or how we met, or how long we’d been dating. I didn’t know where he grew up, what he’d majored in in college, or how many siblings he had.
I sure as hell didn’t know he was Adam Winters, hotshot hockey player, and not only my father’s favorite player, but my little nephew’s freakin’ idol.
Which means I’m in trouble. Big, big trouble.
My mother is suspicious, my sister is bridezilla on crack, and my grandpa will tell anyone who’ll listen about his time in Amsterdam’s Red Light District.
Four days.
I have to keep this up for four days, and then Adam and I can return to our regular lives, where we don’t have sex whenever we’re alone, and my family aren’t interrogating him over his intentions with me.
At least, that’s the plan.
And we all know what happens to those.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

I am not sure why, but I was very reluctant to begin reading this book. And there was no reason why I should feel like that. As it turns out I enjoyed the book a lot and I only took one break while reading it. I also didn't want to read the book in a public place. I guess there was a sense of doom looming over me when it came to this book because I was expecting it to be angsty and it wasn't. It was a light book with a good pace. It made me think that the two main characters could actually fall for each other within four days and that it was completely normal. Poppy's character in some ways reminds me of the typical hero one finds in a romance novel aka the kind of person who only wants a night of fun and no commitments. She has also humor and she is sassy and she came close to been the perfect heroine. Adam was a good dude and I liked him. His lady is a better character, but both had their very stubborn moments, so I could say that they are perfect for each other. Overall, the book had a light and slightly funny tone that made it easy to read and that's the reason why I would recommend it.

Excerpt:
“Ready?” Adam strolled out of the bedroom, playing with the button on his shorts. “For lunch with my mother?” I turned and stared at him, expressionless. “I’m thrilled.” He laughed and adjusted the short sleeve of his white shirt. “It’s what—an hour? Then she’ll be back snapping at your sister’s ankles. Surely you can give Rosie a break for sixty whole minutes.” “Oh no. I’ve done that guilt trip my entire life. I’m not getting it from my fake boyfriend, too.” I waggled my finger at him before turning back to the mirror to finish my make-up. “And yes, I can give her a break, but it doesn’t mean I need to be happy about it.” “Do you ever get along?” “Yes. When I’m in Orlando and she’s in Key West.” “I mean when you’re together.” “In the same room together, or having a conversation together?” “Now you’re just being awkward, Red.” I brushed a final stroke of mascara over each of my eyes, then stopped, wand in hand, and met his eyes in the reflection of the mirror. “Given how you ended up here, I would have thought you knew that awkward was my default mode.” “That was cute-awkward. This is attitude-awkward.” “How do you know there’s a difference?” He pointed at himself. “Four sisters. I grew up with attitude-awkward. I could recognize it blindfolded with hands cuffed behind my back from two hundred miles away.” “Wow. Someone’s cocky.” “I thought we established that the night we met.” My cheeks flushed. Damn it. Why did I have to blush like an idiot? Oh, that’s right. I was a redhead and so pale I was a distant relative of Casper the Friendly Ghost, which meant you could see my blushing a mile off. “You’re adorable when you blush.” Adam grinned. “Thank God,” I drawled. “That was my life goal. Be adorable. Now, I can get it in neon lights over my bed.”

A brand new contemporary romance from New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans.
It started as a game.

Then I discovered who he was: Gambler. Famous playboy. Silver-eyed player who never plays to lose...
And my best friend’s soon-to-be brother in law, Cullen Carmichael.
He needed a good luck charm, I needed a distraction.
So we made a gamble and set off for Vegas—but pretty soon—I was in too deep.
My heart, soul, and body weren't supposed to be part of the deal.
But somewhere between big wins and long nights, my house of cards started to tumble.
What was this devil with those piercing eyes doing to me?
I’d given up on love, but the wicked, all-in Cullen Carmichael was upping the ante and wouldn’t stop until he’d won it all.

Review:

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

In the previous book Callan was the hero and now we have his brother Cullen. When I checked my review for Callan's book, I was pretty sure I had messed up the hero's name, but that wasn't the case. It's weird to have two heroes in a row with similar names. If I was binge-reading the series I might have been a little confused, as I am not very good with names. Neither brother is swoon-worthy, but both are decent and I liked them. You should know that Cullen slept with another woman after having met Wynn, but I got the feeling that he didn't let anyone share his bed after that woman. Wynn had a boyfriend at the time, after all, so you can't really blame him. And he realized that no one could compare to Wynn, so he got points for that. I liked the novel and I read it in one sitting. I loved the chemistry between the two main characters and how their bond developed over time. Things went down more slowly than I was expecting and I liked that since it gave a chance to the characters to get to know each other a little bit better. I have to agree with another reviewer that the epilogue was a little over the top and some of the things that happened are unbelievable, but I will let that pass without taking a star from the books original rating. It's one of the few epilogues that I didn't like and some of you might know that I almost always love the epilogues in the books I read. I would recommend the book since I had a good time reading it.

Excerpt:
“So you just kissed me because you wanted to.” I speak on a breath.
“Very good. You’re perceptive. Intuitive.”
I realize he’s teasing me in that low, terribly rumbly voice and I wish he would smile at me.
He takes my hand and fingers my palm with his thumb as he leads me to our suite.
I’m sizzling where he touches me, nervously prying my hand free when he leads me into the biggest, most spectacular two-bedroom penthouse suite I’ve ever seen. Not that I’d seen one before in person, only movies.
There’s a kitchen area, and windows from floor to ceiling. A living room, a pool table, gold brass chandeliers, a brown-and-beige-patterned carpet, dark woods, Italian leathers. Gorgeous! I could move in here.
Now I see the appeal but won’t admit as much.
Thinking of our bet, I pay attention to the art on the walls. It’s expensive. I can tell by the numbered print and the signature. Painters with indecipherable and artistic signatures are often the artists to watch. It’s like they know from the moment they paint their first work that they’re on to something big, something that will distinguish their work from all others.
I wish Cullen loved art as much as I do. Maybe I could drag him away from the tables to a local gallery.
“Wow. I could just live he—” I spin around and bump into his big warm body, and he bends his head and kisses my words right out of me.
Kisses me stupid. Kisses my toes curled. Kisses my brain blank. Kisses my heart crazy.

Blog tour: Loving in the Light (Dating Trilogy #3) by Alexandria Bishop

THE DATING TRILOGY is finally COMPLETE! Read the entire series from beginning to end now!

About DATING IN THE DARK

Call center girl by day and...this is the part where I say I do something super mysterious and exotic by night. Yeah not so much. With the big 3-0 looming its ugly head around the corner my best friend and my married and very pregnant sister have decided that I need a life. One that includes the opposite sex. Or else continue on, and become the old spinster they say I am. It was all in jest until they set me up with a blind date. Literally. Speed dating. In the dark. With a stranger. What were they thinking? Fifteen minutes, that’s all you get to find the man of your dreams. Oh yeah, that’ll go over about as well as a nun in a strip club. Playing along might not be so bad. Besides, what's the worst that could happen? It's not like I’ll actually end up falling in love.

Review:

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars

I wasn't a big fan of this book. I hated the pace and the weird way the story was told. I am used to stories that are told in the third person and this narrative just threw me off. I had forgotten that I wasn't a big fan of the series for this reason and I wanted to see what happened after the cliffhanger of the second book and in the end was disappointed. For one, at some point, I started thinking that Tinley would end up with another man and Marek would die because we spend a lot of time without Marek in this book and Tinley gets flirty with another man. We find out what's Marek's fate after half of the book has passed and that didn't make me happy and it's the reason I had a problem with the pace. We spend 60% of the book wondering where he is and what he is doing, only to have the next 40% to fix everything and end the story in a good way, which made everything seem rushed and I was not ok with that.   If the trilogy was a duology, it might have worked better in my opinion. Most of the book was unnecessary to me and I would have liked a story where is mostly about the wedding preparations and working out the mechanics of having already a child in the family, having one on the way and the work problems Tinley seemed to face. After finishing the trilogy, I can say that I wouldn't recommend it because of this book.

About SINKING IN THE SHADOWS

The Dating Trilogy continues with Sinking in the Shadows... She wasn’t looking for love. She wasn’t looking for a happily ever after. But Dating in the Dark gave her both. Or so she thought. Now with a broken heart and an unexpected surprise she doesn’t know if she’ll ever find her way back to both again. Sinking in the Shadows is the second book in The Dating Trilogy and should be read after Dating in the Dark. Tinley and Marek’s story concludes in Loving in the Light.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars

I must be honest here, I never got to finish the book. I was not feeling it and something was preventing me to read more than a paragraph without wanting to stop. That something must be my basic reader instinct. I checked on Goodreads some of the reviews and I stumbled upon one of my very hard limits aka cheating. I need to explain the situation so, from now on this is a non-spoiler free zone. From what I understood the "hero" cheated on the heroine all those years ago because he thought that it was the only way she would leave their town and thrive. What kind of person cheats on their love of their lives? I couldn't be with a person like him because I would always fear that after something bad happens in our relationship he could spend his time in another woman's bed. He did it before for her shake, so why not do it again? Another thing that bothered me is that the heroine is in some sort of relationship/friends with benefits situation and we get to see her getting touchy with him, in the very first chapter if I recall correctly. To me, the book didn't have a single redeeming quality and that was the reason I decided not to finish reading the book. I rarely do that and with this book, I don't even wanna try to pick it up again.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

The mysterious third sister has finally arrived and we get to find out who she is and how she is going to work things out with her sisters. Of course as we know the sisters are longing to find their missing sibling, but Juliette only recently found out the secrets her father was having. Up until then she was living a very sheltered life and knew little of the world. After all the revelations she decided she had enough and moves in the same town her sisters live in order to slowly get to know them.  There she meets a man who seems to be the one for her, but as you know is also hiding something from her. I couldn't fault him for that since he wanted the money to get his father in a good place in order to help him with his health issues. And he was a great guy. He supported Juliette when she needed him like for example when she met her sisters for the first time and he loved her which was enough for me. The book is not heavy on drama and it has a good pace. I was happy to see the main characters from the two previous books and I hope for another book in the series. I will not say that this is the best book in the series, but it's very good and I would recommend it.

Review: Motive (Office Roulette #2) by Kennedy Layne

 About MOTIVE (Office Roulette #2)

The Office Roulette trilogy continues with an epic battle between blame and forgiveness…
Rye Marshall had it all—wealth, prominence, and the love of his life.  But nothing lasts forever, and his perfect world came crashing down around him.  When the dust settled, he found himself alone and starting from a clean slate.
Grace Dorrance had made many mistakes in her life, but one stood out above the rest—an epic ending to a complex and passionate relationship.  She left her former lover’s life in complete ruins and tried her best never to look back at the wreckage.
Seconds chances are hard to come by, but even more difficult when Grace is arrested for a murder she didn’t commit.  This gives Rye the perfect motive to forgive and forget, allowing for new beginnings.  Unfortunately, someone’s playing a game of office roulette with everyone’s lives.

Get your hands on MOTIVE now!

 Review:

Rating:4 out of 5 stars

Motive is the second book in the Office Roulette series and I have to say that I was more satisfied with this story than I was with the first one. The characters were likeable and I liked the story even if I am not a fan of second chance romances. I wanna know what the author has planned for the third book since we don't have many things happening in this one. Grace is very smart and I want to see her working with the heroine of the third book to find the killer. I have no idea which direction the story will take and I am happy for that. It keeps the suspense up. I liked the dynamics between the two main characters and I wasn't bothered with their past. Both of them were good as individuals and they loved each other very much. They slowly figure their relationship out, get over all the obstacles, tdeal with the past and simultaneously try to find out who the killer is. In a way, a lot of things are going on in this book.   I would recommend the book and I suggest to read the first one before you begin this one.

Missed MEANS (Office Roulette #1) and need to catch up? Get your hands on it now!

 About MEANS (Office Roulette #1)

From USA Today Bestselling Author Kennedy Layne comes a sexy trilogy that involves greed, power, and the desire to do it all over again…
Smith Gallo has everything a man could ever want at the tip of his fingertips, except of course the woman he loves.  To what lengths will he be willing to go to make his ambitions come true?
Laurel Calanthe is one successful stock pick away from making partner when she finds herself in desperate need of an alibi.  There’s only one problem.  The man who can save her from being arrested is her only competitor and the one who now holds her fate in his hands.
Greed is a powerful motivator in the game of making money, but desire can overcome even the strongest motive.

I stopped reading at 45% . It was that or my mental health. The book began with the "hero" waking up after a one night stand and he actually has a conversation with that woman. That was so not my thing and still I was able to continue. Then the "heroine" who was supposed to be betrayed by him fell into his bed after a day(?) they saw each other again after those 7 years and the he showed zero redemption characteristics. I wasn't able to get into the story or like either main character, so I wouldn't recommend the book.

FORGET YOU is the classic boss/ assistant romance, just ramped up enough, that it blows your mind.”

Read the an exclusive excerpt from FIGHT FOR YOU:

Delanie pulled the sheet over her head as she lay in bed. She’d take anything to get rid of Aiden—a surprise zit on her nose, the tequila hangover of death, eighteen bad hair days—it would all be worth it just to get some peace.
The medicine the doctor had prescribed made her sleepy, but every time she woke up, Aiden was there, giving her water, handing her more pills, or hovering just outside the bedroom, waiting for her to come out of the bathroom and get back into bed.
But even in a drugged haze, she couldn’t ignore the obvious about him. Yesterday, he’d brought her lunch after he’d gone for a run. The black running tights and matching long-sleeved workout shirt he’d worn had molded to his torso and legs. He’d smelled like sweat—the good kind that made her want to run her hands all over him and grab his solid-looking ass.
Delanie glanced at the digital clock on the bedside table. He was usually in her room by eight thirty sharp, reminding her not to exert herself and stay in bed. It was almost nine. Was Aiden still working out? This was her chance to take an extra-long shower without him banging on the door, checking on her. Just as she swept back the covers, he walked in the bedroom, shirtless, carrying a breakfast tray.
Good morning. Sorry, I overslept.” Heavy lids emphasized his hazel eyes. A morning beard framed the angles of his face. Black sweat pants rode low on his hips. As he leaned down to place the tray of food on her lap, warmth radiated from him, along with the faint scent of his spicy cologne.
No one wore just-woke-up sexy like he did. When they were together, snuggling had been her favorite thing to do with him in bed. Okay, maybe her second favorite.
He stood and rested a hand on his hip. From the shape of his cock, that bad boy was roaming free. “How are you feeling?”
Feverish and in need of an orgasm—stat.

Better.”
Good.” He gave her a lopsided grin. “If you need me, I’ll be in the shower in the spare bathroom.”
A memory she couldn’t stop roared in. Aiden in the shower at Clearmount. Head thrown back, with soap suds gliding down his shoulders, winding through the muscles of his torso and down his muscular legs as water sluiced over him.
Delanie?”
Aiden calling her snapped Delanie partially back to the present. She had to blink several times to erase the conjured up image of him standing naked in the bedroom doorway. “Yes?”
He pointed to the bottle of pills on the nightstand. “Don’t forget to take your medicine.”

THE NEXT STANDALONE NOVEL IN THE WAGS SERIES BY NAIMA SIMONE.
After a divorce from her cheating football player ex, PR whiz Kim Matlock would rather drive a pine tree through her walled-off heart than work at the Seattle Wedding Expo. And the last thing she expects is to be grabbed and kissed breathless by a hot giant of a man looking to fend off a stalker. She doesn’t want emotional entanglements, but she can’t say no to one scorching night with the sexy stranger.
To her shock, she finds out afterward that a) he’s a pro football player, aka her kryptonite, and b) she’s pregnant.
But nothing could have prepared her for his response…

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

We had a rocky journey, the book and I. Sometimes I liked the story and others not so much. It's not one of the author's best works. I felt like giving up sometimes on the book and others I liked where it was going. I wasn't a fan of the heroine or the heroine. The secondary characters were more to my liking to be honest. The plot was good and the pace was even. Overall I feel like the book was mediocre and I don't feel like recommending it.

About Naima Simone

USA Today Bestselling author NAIME SIMONE’s love of romance was first stirred by Johanna Lindsey, Sandra Brown and Linda Howard many years ago. Well not that many. She is only eighteen…ish. Though her first attempt at a romance novel starring Ralph Tresvant from New Edition never saw the light of day, her love of romance, reading and writing has endured. Published since 2009, she spends her days—and nights— writing sizzling romances with a touch of humor and snark.
She is wife to Superman, or his non-Kryptonian, less bullet proof equivalent, and mother to the most awesome kids ever. They all live in perfect, sometimes domestically-challenged bliss in the southern United States.

Thorn From the first time I played army as a kid, the military has been my life. As an Airborne Major, I’d led my men through two tours in Afghanistan. But when my father was elected president, I became an even greater target for the enemy—a prize for someone to take out. To ensure not only the safety of myself, but of my men, I got stripped of my cammies, shoved into an Armani suit, and placed into a management position at my father’s company. After years of trekking through the desert with an assault rifle, I was way out of my area of expertise, which my transition coordinator was more than happy to let me know on a daily, if not hourly basis. The brunette bombshell would be the death of me in more ways than one, especially since I hadn’t been with a woman since my last deployment. She’s turning out to be one of the greatest foes I’ve ever done battle with. Isabel In the backwoods Georgia town I was born in, you either married right out of high school or got the hell out of town. I chose the second and never looked back. After graduating top in my class, I started working for The Callahan Corporation. Fast forward five years and I was about to become the youngest female manager in the history of my department. And then all the blood, sweat, and tears I’d put into my career were for nothing when the boss’s billionaire son was handed my position on a silver platter. Not only that, I was expected to help transition him into the job that was supposed to be mine. Sure, he’s easy on the eyes with his chiseled good-looks and impossibly built physique, but I’m not going to let that distract me. I hope soldier boy is good at military strategy because sabotage is the name of the game I’ll be playing.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Office mate was a good book. I was going to say great, but I disliked the pranks Isabel pulled on Thorn. I found them immature and these acts are not my kind of fun. Of course I wasn't happy that Thorn stole her promotion and if it happened in real life I would have said something a about it and not condone it.

These are the two parts I didn't like. What I liked the most was the slow burn between these two. Normally I am tired of waiting for the couple in a book to end up doing something romantic, but with Isabel and Thorn I was satisfied. They went from enemies to friends and in the end lovers and it felt natural. The attraction was there from the very first page, but they didn't act on it. Their first meeting was memorable and a little fun.

The book is a good and it's stand alone, so don't hesitate to pick it up.
