Review: Real Dirty (Real Dirty Duet #1) by Meghan March

  Real Dirty AMAZON

I have everything a guy could want—a new single burning up the charts, more money than a simple country boy could spend, and a woman I’m planning to marry. Until she doesn’t show up for my proposal. The life I thought was so perfect, isn’t. The guy who thought he had everything, doesn’t. I’ve got my heart on lockdown, but life sends me straight into the path of a mouthy bartender who puts me in my place. Now the only place I want to put her is under me. I thought I was done with love, but maybe I’m just getting started.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

There is one thing that really bugs me about this book and even though I said to myself that it doesn't matter, it pops up a lot in my thoughts so, I have to say something about it. Boone plans to propose to another woman. The first chapter is about him, waiting for his then girl to go to the bar he is after her flight and propose to her. He wanted to marry that woman. I get that he realizes later on, how not right she was for him, but this thing between him and Ripley was a little too rushed. I would have liked to have at least a gap of a month between the breakup and the new relationship with Ripley. If I don't count that, I will have to say that I liked Boone. He might have caused a lot of trouble, but he had good intentions and I will forgive him for what he did. Ripley should get a backbone in the second book. She needs the most development from the two of them. For the sake of staying close to something that held a memory of her mother, she accepted the abuse of her father and that self-centered cousin.

I knew the book would end with a cliffhanger as most books do in a duet, so I wasn't very surprised to see one in the end of this book. I might have hypervated more if I didn't knew that  I was going to have on my hands the second and final book only a couple of days after finishing this one. I think I know why everything happened and what is causing us all that trouble, but I will have to keep it to myself since I don't want to spoil you a part of the story.

What I am looking forward to the next book is an explanation of what happened to Ripley's mother and how she will get what she deserves. I have high expectations from the second book and I think that the author will meet them.I am always happy to get my hands on a book by Meghan March. Real dirty might not be in my mind one of her best works, but it's still a very enjoyable read.

Real Sexy AMAZON In Nashville, country stars are a dime a dozen. I swore I’d never get caught up with one, but Boone Thrasher made a liar out of me. I said I’d never put my heart on the line, but he didn’t ask before he stole it. Now we’re facing my worst fears, and we'll see if this country boy is tough enough to see it through. Girls like me don’t get happily ever afters… but maybe he’ll prove that wrong too.
