Under pressure is the first book in a new series by Lori Foster. I wanted to read a book by Foster for a long time, but I never got the chance. So, this the first book of hers that I read and I wasn't disappointed by the result.

This book follows Cat a woman who was on the run after witnessing something she shouldn't have and Leese, the man who was sent to find her and keep her safe. When Leese finds Cat he thought that his job was done and he could return Cat to her family, but he later learns that Cat ran away for a very good reason and she is afraid of going back home and to her stepfather who is not as good as the world thought he was. In order to keep her safe he takes he takes her to a safe place and together they try to bring her stepfather down, even though that puts both of their lives at risk.

Cat wasn't the kind of heroine who let the others step on her and even though she was afraid about what might happen to Leese and the others at Body armor she was strong and I liked her. She wasn't annoying or whinny and she was the perfect match for Leese who does whatever he thinks it's the best in order to save the people he loves. I liked him too. They were a great set of characters and I will miss them until the next book comes out.

Under pressure isn't just Cat and Leese' story. It's about Sahara, Justice and the other guys. I was hoping that Sahara and Justice were going to be a couple, but I guess that no chemistry comment was true after all. Judging from my blurb of the second book the main theme of the series will be a bodyguard who falls for his/her client. I an also hoping that Sahara's brother isn't dead and that he will come back, but I guess I am wasting my time hoping for something like that. I loved all the people who work at Body armor and I will be waiting for their stories.

I liked the story and the characters, who were developed and complex enough for me. Each of them has something unique that held my interest. I wasn't bored while I was reading the story which is something that lately happens more often than it did before. I don't see a reason why the readers wouldn't at least like the story. The book gets a solid 4 star rating from me.
