Blog Tour: The Billionaire Bachelor (Billionaire Bad Boys #1) by Jessica Lemmon

Indecent Proposal...

Indecent Proposal

Manwhore. That's what the board of directors-and the tabloids-thinks of billionaire bachelor Reese Crane. Ordinarily he couldn't care less, but his playboy past is preventing the board from naming him CEO of Crane Hotels. Nothing-and no one-will keep him from his life's legacy. They want a settled man to lead the company? Then that's exactly what he'll give them.

Merina Van Heusen will do anything to get her parents' funky boutique hotel back-even marry cold-as-ice-but-sexy-as-hell Reese Crane. It's a simple business contract-six months of marriage, absolute secrecy, and the Van Heusen is all hers again. But when sparks fly between them, their passion quickly moves from the boardroom to the bedroom. And soon Merina is living her worst nightmare: falling in love with her husband . . .

Review:

4 out of 5 stars

I think I have found a new series, and a new author to follow. I enjoyed the book a lot and I was really happy when the womanizer didn't sleep with anyone else during the curse of the book. I also found myself saying horsesh1t in my head after reading the book and smiling because of that. Merina is a strong character that doesn't just accept what people tell her. She does what she wants and talks back what she doesn't agree with whatever people tell her to do.

Marriages of convenience is always a theme I like to read and this book was one I liked. I would place it in my top 20 in that category. The angst was to me like water is to someone walking on a dessert. Reese only cares about the hotels and becoming the CEO. He closes off and his past experiences have left him cold and incapable of having a relationship. Merina with her attitude and love will try to change that, but the possibility of success isn't very high.

Merina accepts Reese's proposal of marriage in exchange of getting her family's hotel back and that's how things begin for our couple. I kept expecting her parents to find out the reason behind the marriage and tell their daughter that they couldn't handle the stress anymore. Don't ask, why, I just did.

The ex's drama was close to being too much, but it the end it was handled very well. I don't understand why Reese's ex was the one to help him realize a couple of things before he went back to Merina, but I will just accept it.

Tag, Reese's brother is going to get a book next and is going to be with the waitress Merina introduced him to. I can't wait to see that happening. I don't feel like I know the secondary characters. They appear too briefly for me to be able to say that I liked them. There wasn't some into love for me with a secondary character in the book. I would have liked you know though if Reese's father realized that his assistant is in love with him.
