Manacle ( MC Sinners Next Generation #3) by Bella Jewel

Genre: Contemporary Romance
 Release Date: May 23, 2016

Blurb

I’ve loved Danny since I was five.
He’s loved me longer.
It seemed destined that we would be together, it seemed like the stars had aligned.
Then we grew up and life got in the way.
He’s stepping up to be president of the Motorcycle club we grew up in.
And I want no part in it.
I want to be free, to travel the world and experience life without violence.
He’s not willing to give up the club.
I’m not willing to be an old lady.
But giving him up is like losing a part of myself.
Love isn’t easy.
Life certainly never is.
The manacles he has wrapped around me will hold me to him.
No matter how hard I try to run.

Review:

3 Stars

This review will contain spoilers because I just have to get some things out. Also, some people might not like the contain of the book so if you have some hard limits please read below.

Before this book not once in my life I had thought that I would want to see the hero ending up with another woman, but yesterday while I was reading the book, I did. Maybe it's the aftermath of reading Fooling around with Noelle Adams, but when Skye said that Macy was making Danny look happy something inside of me thought that Macy was a better choice. The way Skye was behaving before that didn't help the case either. In the end, I realized that she was halfway right, but then so was Danny. She was just trying to prove her point in one of the worst possible ways.

The book would have pulled some major triggers for me if I didn't think that the characters deserved it. Skye cheats Preston with Danny. I don't even know if I am supposed to be mad about the cheating. After all, she cheated an a$$ehole who I still don't know why he was introduced in this book to begin with, other than cause trouble with the love of her life. Then Danny after seeing that Skye has moved on and left him gets into a relationship with Macy, after he sleeps around for a while. As you can see both main characters sleep with other people and get into a relationship. I might not have read the two previous books, but I don't think that's what the royal readers wanted to read about.

The story is entirely told from Skye's point of view which was something I didn't like. I couldn't fully understand who Danny was and why people were expecting his book and Skye seemed to be from an entire different planet. She knew she was wrong and yet she was trying to convince herself that she wasn't. She was in big denial. The fact that she met Preston and went on a date with him a couple of weeks after leaving Danny didn't allow me to like her as much as I might have. I know that what happened to Mercie and Ava was awful, but I guess she didn't know that that could happen to anyone, no matter where they were. Danny was big on the words, but he did little in action. He didn't chase after her and he didn't try anything else, but wait for her to come home. He lost a great deal of points with his actions.

I hope this book won't be the last because I want to see with my own eyes the new direction the MC club has taken. I like the author's writing style and I wouldn't mind reading another one of her works.
